Help with Amplifier..

So I have a 2020 Tundra crewmax non jbl radio.. so I changed out all my audio to Skar Audio.. a 1200w mono amplifier to push my 2 10' subwoofers.. and I swapped out the amp under the passenger seat to a 4ch amplifier with the play Ann play harness.. the problem I'm having is when I adjust the gain on the 4ch amplifier it's giving power to my subwoofers even while the gain is down on the mono amplifier can anybody tell me why it's doing this

 

One would have to see the schematics for how you wired your new components in to understand why it’s doing that. My guess is the audio input to the mono amp is part of the output of the 4 channel amp. But that’s speculation.

 

I don't think so...if I turn down everything on the 4ch amp, I can adjust the subwoofers through the mono amp.. and when I go to adjust the 4ch amp my subwoofers get louder and it shouldn't be doing that... when I go back to stock amp everything is fine.. so I'm lost

Are you using speaker level inputs on both the skar amps?

How are you getting signal to the mono amp?

what model of LOC? Assuming you are using a different set of speaker level inputs to feed the LOC?

Try to snap a picture of your setup.

 

Is the line your running into the converter downstream of the 4 channel amp?

 

I'm using a "PAC SNI-15" line output converter..to hook up the mono amp.. and I'm using the high level inputs to have my 4ch amp hooked up.... I just now disconnected the power and ground and going back stock til I figure it out

How are you getting signal to the LOC? It looks like you are using all the speaker level outputs from the head unit to feed the 4-ch amp.

You may have to switch the 4ch amp to 2ch mode and use two of the speaker outputs from the head unit to feed the LOC.

Generally i would not recommend using a loc on 1 amp and speaker levels on another. Get the proper loc that will handle 6 channels and you will be much happier if your budget is able to.
this guy tested a few LOC's on on o-scope if you end up shopping around

 

The LOC is only used for the Mono amp so I could run the rca cables ( the LOC is hooked up to the front speakers)

 

Are the front speaker output from the head unit being used by the LOC?

From the picture you posted, i see 8 sets of wires....so 4 sets from the input on the amp, and 4 for the output to the door speakers.

But you are saying that the LOC is only using the front speakers? Has the setup changed, since you took that picture?

 

Before I decided to replace the amp under the seat I had no issues with the system.. the LOC is only used for the mono amp so it could be hooked up... and when I chose to replace the stock amp, i got the harnesses needed for the 4ch amp and used the high level inputs to install.. aside the power/ground/remote..

 

I obviously don't pay attention..

That's not even the amp I'm using I'm using a Skar Audio.. but even if I was using that shitty Blaupunkt amp I still shouldn't be having this issue
