Are you still in the same set up as in the first post. Bilstein 6112 with CB shims and shackle for the rear? Stock gears or upgraded?

    TIA!

    Not sure at this point.
Sounds like the problem lies there. I don’t think any of us run anything past 0 offset. Unless if you’re running rubber band tires.

Definitely! Still have a bit of rubbing on the bmc to figure out. Might need to switch to spc control arms in the near future

I have the total chaos upper control arms which are maxed out forward caster while keeping everything else within spec.

The 13.50s aren’t bad. Overall can notice the weight difference from a stop/accelerating. The main reason I went with these was to have a better fit with the fiberglass fenders.

Now that's ...... question with 17" wheels do y'all upgrade to bigger brakes or do you stick with stock brakes due to barely having enough room to fit a 17

The only reason I didn’t go with 17’s is the 0mm offset, which would rub. I wanted to stick with +18mm to +25mm offset. My old 20’s are +20mm. These 18’s are +25mm. I’m happy with the stock brake performance so far. I can still lock them up.

Yeah, those are 18s. I've still got those and they're in great shape. Didn't stay on the truck long before I switched to 17s

You can’t run bigger brakes with 17”s. I had a tire tech stack weights on my 17”s and they hit the caliper. I have maybe 1/8” between the inside dish of the wheel and the caliper :anonymous:

Would you know if keeping stock ucas is possible with a +25 offset? What about working on everything else such as the bump stock extenders, carrier barring and diff drop spacers all this recommended as well?

If you're trying to stuff 37s on your truck you will likely need a lift of some sort. I've seen a truck on 37s that was really close to stock (Lenny's truck IIRC) You can search for it on the sire here to get more info. When you lift it's usually a good idea to extend the bump stops. I'm not a fan of diff drops or carrier bearing spacers unless they're required. I'd rather not change the input shaft angle at the diff, CVs if damaged are a lot cheaper and easier to replace. Carrier bearing spacers, IMO, aren't necessary until you've lifted the truck more than 3". These are just my thoughts after having played around with different setups on my truck. I'm sure others will have their opinions too.

we used stock UCA on our first set of 37s with +18 offset and a 13.5” wide tire. Just had a 2” lift from BOSS coilovers and did not do carrier bearing or diff drop per observations @831Tun mentioned above.
It just takes a willingness to trim some stuff. I documented the whole process in our build thread (somewhere) if you want step by step instructions.

Original 37s setup from 2017 on +18 offset and stock UCA, 2” lift.

    B1994AD1-EFEE-4E72-8565-F305063D4830.jpg

Current 37s on -5 offset beadlocks and adjustable UCA plus other random shit (glass fenders make it look lifted more, but it’s actually only 1.5” lift in front)

Yes read your complete build thread, great to see all this knowledge and experience in builds :mudding:

One more question I've been reading there's balance issues when running a large tire is that something you will have to eventually and always deal with or is it on particular tire brands, maybe more on 17s than 18s?

I've had 3 sets of 37" BFG's and the only issue I've had has been the shop locating the weights in the wrong place. With 17" wheels the brake calipers will remove the weights if they're not located correctly.

    Too many mods to come

Alcon makes a BBK that works with a 17” the caliber is actually smaller than oem units. Well not smaller but machined better.

Spot on. Stock brakes and 17s will eat the weights if not oriented the right way

Yep his rig Alcon BBK front and rear. Wicked brakes. I’ll probably do the fronts only since the mines lighter than his. But we’ll see how it pans out.

Those look really cool, I like the 6 piston design. With the Alcon are you committing to buy only their rotors and pads?

Don’t think so. I believe you can run a pad that fits. The material on both rotors and pad is substantial. Barely any wear and he’s used them hard. They barely look bedded. I feel like they’ll last a good while before needing changed
