I was wondering the same. The fusebox is right next to the center console so it would've been easy to tap for 12vdc to use to convert to type C PD power.

Production update:

We ran into a snag with our chip board supplier. They are taking much longer than expected to be manufactured and shipped with no ETA as of yet as to when that will happen. Also note, that the chip boards then have to be assembled, tested, and QC’ed by EEF before shipping out to you.

So we sourced a new supplier. The cost per unit has gone up slightly but the quality of the board has also increased. We are in the process of R&D for the new chip boards and final housing design. We want to ensure product quality and usability is not affected by this change.

The cost for the EEF chargers will be:

• EEF Lite Charger - $99
• EEF Front Plate (FP) Charger- $159

The plan is to release in batches of 30 starting with the list in the original post of this thread. There will be 5 initial batches with each batch being released when the units are assembled and packaged. After the 5th batch is released and fulfilled, online ordering will be available for everyone with units sold and shipped on a first-come/first-served basis.

Look at your place on the list. Placement and batches will be as follows:

• Batch 1: 1-30
• Batch 2: 31-60
• Batch 3: 61-90
• Batch 4: 91-120
• Batch 5: 121-150

If you didn’t make the list, we sincerely do apologize. With the limited quantity and high demand, we wanted to get this out to as many people as possible while maintaining the fit, finish, and quality benchmarks we set and you will expect. We also wanted to keep our promise to give you guys first crack at the chargers. This was the easiest way we felt we could do that.

I will definitely take one. Two questions: Will there be a magsafe style to help keep the phone in place on bumps/rough roads? Or a slot the phone can fit into the keep it in place?

how many amps can a phone charger be pulling, not much I wouldn't think. What is the fuse on that OEM?

seems like some type of connector could be fitted on the new one so its just plug and play and not routed and plugged into the existing USB.

all that said, at least its something, although it sucks you have to take apart all that to install.

what a shame toyota just cant get it right from the start, you have to wonder how this shit passes the design team when they are testing it. It hardly works right for anyone.

on my test drive I physically held it place when I finally got it connected and it still dropped off, total shit

Yes any updates, looking forward to purchasing one and having the wireless charger work, mine works well if I take the case off my phone and I have tried every case and none work on iPhone 13pro. Hope to hear about an update soon.

We have been extremely busy building the website and getting the online store rocking as well as finalizing design of the unit.

That said, production is finally going!

The website will be up very soon! Anyone will be able to go and place their preorders however open preorders will be delayed until list members have an an opportunity to claim their units.

I don’t think so

As awesome as this is for a first gen product , the second gen needs to have the mag safe magnet and also the power plug into the existing supply and not run all the way into the usb port

just my .02. , but I’m early on the list so we’ll see what happens

Depending on what wave you’re in, expect a heads-up post announcing when you wave will ship.

The site will allow for anyone to pre-order and purchase the units. However we will reach out to everyone individually to get their contact intel so we can prioritize their purchase.

List members will receive preference with open public purchases being filled after we make it through the wait list.
