Ok, one more for the weekend. My tekonsha brake controller finally went bad after 205k miles and 10 years of service. So, I did a little research and found the red arch brand. Love it! I did move my rear window switch, now upside down since it’s the only way it would fit, but I never roll the back window down anyway :D I just wanted the knob easily accessible and in sight.

For years I have used Gunk Engine Cleaner. It sprays on and has an oily feel to it so be careful with your spraying. I let that sit for 5 minutes or so and then rinse with a light hose flow. Definitely do this when the engine has been cold for a while. If you do this a few times a year you will avoid dirt build up a really never have to scrub. That would be different if you live on dirt roads but for me its a simple process that I complete right after I finish washing the outside.

I sanded my headlights today and clear coated them as well. Some orange peel on them but it still looks a lot better than the hazy yellow that they were before. I probably could polish the orange peel down a bit but I am going to leave it alone for now. So happy to have the nasty discoloration gone from my headlights, makes the truck look years newer.

Clay barred, medium to light cut rub down, and an old fashioned hand wax to finish. Thankful for 2nd set of hands from the youngest.
Acres of black...wouldn't wish on anyone. But a good thing when done.

Ordered a used set of limited leather seats and a RAV4 heated steering wheel from a nearby parts yard. Will try to get them installed this week.
Unrelated, does anyone know what this plug is for? It's next to the blank switch plate between the 12v power port and the USB/aux port

Not yet. Figuring it out as I go lol.
Going to order a switch from AliExpress that's labeled as Toyota Prado, but is the right size and color. I'm not interested in spending the dealer prices for a land cruiser button and relay (like $150 just for the button and relay, not counting finding connectors and making a harness out of them).
I'll take photos as I go though and make up a DIY for folks.

I was just thinking of asking the same thing. I think if it's for a glass breakage sensor, you'd still need the sensor which would fit in the blank spot.

Finally back together after paint, HVAC troubleshooting, and mouse-proofing. Seems I didn't get the motors lined up properly on the vent gears though, as I only have cold and it's only blowing on the dash. :frusty:
"Aged textured copper", bright finish copper, and satin black all from Rustoleum. After sanding the smooth surfaces with 400 grit, several coats each of primer, colour, and satin clear coat. I also hit the clear plastic bits with Maguire's PlastiX, wet sanding my gauge lens first.
I was low on time so left the steering wheel badge for another time as it's fussy getting the chrome off. Black centre console plastic really needing attention now.
