    What tire brand and model?

Most (if not all) 12.5" width tires are recommended to be mounted on a minimum 8.5" rim. Our TRD's are 8". If you do a lot of wheelin' & crawlin' airing down those tires could cause you to lose the bead.

I'm looking at 305/65r18 which are 12" wide (also recommended 8.5" rim) and 33.6" diameter.

I currently run 275/70r18 bfg KO2's. 33.2" diameter and 10.8" wide. Zero rubbing, zero fender liner heating, pushing, melting, or cutting. Stock TRD off-road suspension.

Most of the guys who really know what they're talking about said due to the backspace/ offset of the trd wheel, increasing width of tire would produce an issue with the UCA and therefore require spacers. I can nearly fit my hand in between there now. Adding .6" (half of the 1.2" difference in the 275 to 305 jump) I don't think will rub or contact the UCA. But I've only measured with the wheels straight on and not turned. I don't know enough about suspension components to understand if turning the wheel affects that space/geometry at all.
Adding spacers pushes everything out which is where you run into the fender liner, mud flaps, skid plate, and body mount rubbing issues when the wheels are turned.

I can math really well, but again, I'm deferring to the expertise of the guys who really know their stuff on here. And I've only got 15k miles on the 275/70's. Not looking to replace tires yet.

32.95"x12.6" measured on a 10" wheel, I'd imagine yours would be a little taller and narrower due to your wheel squeeze.

Is there a reason you want to go so wide? I think you might hit your UCA's with stock wheels.

So.... New rims (moto metal -24 offset) with the 33x12.5... Will I be required to do the cmc? Trying to get my ducks in a row before I pull the trigger and buy this stuff.

    From everything I've read, yes.

Better start saving $$ for some bodywork / painting too. Your doors will become very intimate with every rock on the road with that width of tire and offset.

305/70 is almost 2" taller diameter than the 33" tires you were looking at (34.81"). You'd likely need some lift. And still probably require a CMC.

I think the majority here are running some variation of: aftermarket 18x9" +30 all the way to -12 offset. (Majority in that range) with 295/70r18. 3" front lift, 1" rear lift. (+30 to +18 offset seems to be the sweet spot). Varying degrees of liner modding and CMC's.

    That's my forte.

    Yes.
Can verify personally that 275/70r18 will fit w/o trimming.

I really am shocked that no one stuffs 33x12.5 on a 3 inch lift.... I am tempted because I have found a good deal on 33x12.5 but lack information (the shocking part because of this site)

Piss her off and do it!!! You only live once and she'll forget about it in a few months......besides....they always find something to be pissed about anyways dude:burnrubber:........... 285/65R18 on 18x9 wheels with 5" back space and 0 offset only requires a mud flap sacrifice...... My next tire will be a 305/65R18 because wider looks better and I will be getting new wheels with a +12 offset for the wider tires..... 2.5 inch lift front

Yes 33x12.5 & 35x12.5 will fit on the TRD wheels, i have done both. the 33s were on at stock PRO height. and I went to 35s after I installed my coachbuilder goodies. I already had an aftermarket front bumper so no trimming for me. and I have not had to chop the cab mount.

New vs old and clearance(I have a 1/4 spacer on the front hubs)

No one puts 33x12.5's on with a 3" lift because the tires look unproportional. Too wide and too short, the latter being the main thing IMO. Besides that, if you go to a 3/1 lift why only get a 33? A lot of guys on this site have 295/70's or 35x12.5's on that lift, or even 305/70's in some cases.

And just curious, why are you against the CMC? Just buy the plates from Relentless and find yourself a shop that'll do it for ya, easy as pie.

This is all true and I agree, 33s aren't much taller than factory and look 'little' even at stock height of a pro. Thats why i finally went with 35s.
