you guys get ice or a little snow & everything goes crazy. That'd annoy me.
Then there's all the stuff @Tundra2 keeps running over / crashing into. Too much wild down thataways.

do they at least replace your slicks up there in the winter? Toss you some chains? I know tire tread & chains were hard to come by, but shoe spikes were readily available.

Some of the old trucks have chains in them. There was a time we could get some decent “bear claw” stuck aids that were aggressive metal, but have since been swapped to cheap ass plastic ones that you would use on a 4 wheeler at best. They dish out plenty of yak trak for your boots.
Tires are te-treads all year that are at least aggressive in the rear but we keep racing slicks in the front all the time. If you get stuck in a Penske or white whale, you’re fucked on the tire situation. Literally can’t move on flat ground

    Random question:
After close to 200k miles of using full synthetic / synthetic high mileage. Why would someone swap to synthetic blend. Would this minimize any oil leaks that were there? In theory? If cost was not factor..

Lolol, 90% of the trucks that even have those, have been smoked from tree limbs and don’t even twirl or have been taken off. We don’t have many updated vehicles in our fleet. They all have well over 300k miles. It’s contract year so they are buying loads of new trucks though, so they can say “look we have no money for anything after all this we’ve spent.”
    Are you a teamster?

CA is the exemption with their upcoming desalination plants, however you WILL run out of electricity once EVs become a norm at least until state government updates their electrical infrastructure.

Well maybe not “run out” but rolling blackouts will be a norm.

I’ll get a photo from the window of the attic room we sleep in. View at night is awesome. I wanted to build a platform bed so you could see the lights at night but that got vetoed.

I dunno, we're getting hammered in Atlanta. I'm seeing so many TN, SC, NC, TX and FL plates these days it's silly. Mostly coming in with plates from Hamilton County, but also getting quite a bit from Franklin and fewer from Lincoln, Marion, and Knox. I know three people in Atlanta area who've relocated to ME since 2020 lockdowns started. One already moved back. "Couldn't handle all the Maine-iacs".

If only the hippies actually had any stake or control over cannabis growing industry. Big business has more money and stake in that game than anyone. But yeah, it'll end up being the next almond crops for California.

I'm not sure why someone would do that. I'd stick with whatever's been used.

If I were seeing periodic leaks or weeping, I'd probably give a dose of ATP AT-205, which I'm sure the forum software will auto-link to scAmazon. It's what I used to stop my cam seal leaks several thousand miles ago.

What blows my mind @BubbaW is that on the national news last night they stated the military already determined it was not a military threat and just a weather ballon that accidentally lost its ability to terminate its flight.

Now they’re shooting it down and stating it was a threat….really?

Perhaps I'm misreading you Bill but middle week military minds were expressing it being a threat if they shot it down at that point in time. At the end of the day, I still have trust in our DOD and my former employoee DOT....some other dept's not so much. Talked to a buddy thur night who implied talks were very close in actually accomplishing it sooner rather than later and yes Crystal Palace was on alert.

I guess I didn’t watch the whole thing unfold. I’m just trying to see why it’s a hard decision to make. They’re making an analogy of us flying over the South China Sea and being worried we’d get shot down.

It’s not like we haven’t mistakenly ventured over China’s airspace and NOT been shot down (sorry, accidentally collided with a Chinese jet). That very thing happened years back and is why there’s a big push on anti-tamper tech today.

How do you make a deleted post go away. When you self police & decide not to post, delete what you wrote... & it keeps re-appearing in post reply box, begging you to post it.

I'd guess leaks. Full synthetic will leak easier. Switching to a high mileage semi-synthetic in hopes of swelling up seals to stop the leaking.
