Picking up a 07 Tundra (Double Cab) in the next couple of weeks. Had this setup under the back seat in my Silverado- hoping it will work in the Tundra as well. It was the best SQ/SPL combo I have had...very loud. Thinking I can squeeze it in there...thoughts?

Nice. Ironically I’m looking at getting the Skar
2015-2022 Ford F-150 Super Crew Cab Compatible Quad 8" Ported Subwoofer Enclosure for my 2010 Tundra Double Cab.

I’m going to double check the measurements in the morning and if it seems like it’ll work, I’ll order the box and try it

If you don’t mind me asking which Skar subs are those and what amp were you using?

Unfortunately, no, they won't fit well in the tundra. The rear seat in the double cab doesn't have that much clearance underneath. There is a small "platform" in the floor about 1/3 of the way back from the front edge of the seat that goes from 7" high down to just below 6" at the back edge of the seat before opening up a little bit behind the bottom cushion. If you run the box ALL the way to the front edge of the seat and notch in the platform, you have roughly 9", but the drivers stick out past the seat edge. Also, the magnet on those drivers is not much smaller that the driver cutout. Once you put them them in the box, you might run in to clearance issues between the magnet and box itself, contacting the floor of the box.

You COULD potentially turn the drivers backwards and mount them rear firing against the back wall. The box has to be tapered from the driver to fit underneath rear of the bottom seat cushion. Look up JL's stealth box for the tundra to visualize how that works. You have to remove the rear set to install the box.

I've shoehorned an Infinity 8" driver back there in a tiny .3 cu ft box firing up, but eventually the back seat contacted the edge of the surround with a seated passenger (no passenger and there was just enough clearance. I ended up with a flat 12" sub downfiring that works well. My next project is a quartet of 7" Dayton HE180's; they clear rear firing without any weird cant, or even upfiring.

But if you REALLY want to find a way, I'm sure there is a way. I've seen guys put the rear seat on riser blocks to clear subs. I don't recommend that route, just saying there are ways...

Yes and the Skar box for the Ford F150 has a little over 9” height so I believe it’ll work. Just need to double check the width of the box in the morning before I order it

I am running the SVR Series, Dual Voice coil- I had them wired in a one ohm configuration to a Skar SKv2-1500.1D. All four 8's took 1500 watts RMS easily. It was a fun setup, kind of a sleeper. Sounded great at low volume ( which 99 percent of the time is the way I listen) but it was easily one of the loudest setups I have ever had. I had to pull the headliner out of the Silverado and put Kilmat up there because I flaked a chunk of paint off due to the roof flexing. Here's a link to that amp and subs

    https://www.skaraudio.com/products/svr-8-inch-800-watt-max-power-car-subwoofer

I was worried about the height issue, and was hoping they would fit. I may have to go another route. I don't mind the subs being forward and flush w/the seat edge, I was thinking of putting grills on there if I had to.

I was curious about this particular measurement, was it 9 inches?

Yes it was around 9” there. Here’s a pic of my current JL Audio 10w3v3 in a small sealed box. Sounds good imo. Just wanted something bigger and since I swapped out the JL Audio 500/5 amp for a JP95 (rated at 900 watts @ 1-ohm but benched easily close to 1200 watts).

Actually I was looking into the 8” SVR’s or VD’s along with that Ford box I mentioned. I already have 4 Skar FSX 65’s and a set of VX-200ST in the front doors. Want to keep it all Skar Audio and may upgrade the amps next year or so depending on how this 4 8” setup works for me

With old box being 10.5 high, were the rear passengers able to sit comfortably in the back? My box sits 11 inches high.

I may end up going with the F150 box if yours fits well....these subs are compatible- Keep us posted -)

Order is in for the Ford box and Skar 8’s. Will keep y’all posted.

Also, here’s the current box I have showing how much the rear seat is raised. The Ford box is slightly shorter in the top and bottom measurements for height. So, I’m assuming the rear seat should sit slightly lower than it currently is.

Awesome news, thanks for the update. I believe you will be happy with the 4 eights- did you go w/ the SVR's?

Picking up my Tundra this weekend, going to see how my box fits in there. I may end up going with the Ford box as well if the seat sits a little lower.

Here’s a quick view of the quad 8 box for the F150. Works for me! I will get some custom bars/guards made for the subs.

Nice...I just got back from a weekend trip and I have my Tundra home. The seat brackets won't let me fit my old box in there so looks like I'm going this route, or this one-

Gunna do some measurements and order soon. You have yours wired up yet?
