Ask around in your local area forum here. Lots of folks with Chrome surrounds to dump from putting on color match.

I’m keeping my chrome! Lol I’ll have a black surround that I’ll take off the new grill to get rid of though.. or keep it as a spare

Are you saying you didnt have NAV before? is that all thats required is an OEM head unit with NAV built in?

Yes. The gps antenna is there. Just have to get the head unit that has the built in Nav.

the “non-Nav” units have scout gps or some awful thing that’s part of entune apps. Or at least it was in the 14-19 model years. 20-21 may be different due to the Apple CarPlay/ android auto capabilities.

edit: if you’re somewhat patient but mostly impatient like me, you can find them on eBay for like $600. And once you buy one, one will show up on here for like $250 a week later.

Fluid filmed under my truck. Now it's covered in goo, but anything to not lose this truck to rust like my last few. Guy missed a couple spots so maybe I'll actually open the kit I bought for DIY to go back over those areas, but at least it's got a good base coat now. I had already noticed hints of brown on some of the frame rails so it was due.
Also noticed pretty much every fastener under the hood has a coating of rust on it, kinda surprised by that at just 4 years old, but yay New England...

Yup. I still use “Apple Maps” for turn by turn directions (wireless over Bluetooth), but about 70% of the Adirondacks don’t have cellular reception so it’s nice to have the head unit GPS for those instances when going somewhere new. It’s pretty wonky for turn by turn (read: completely terrible, especially in a city), but if you’ve got “home” or whatever programmed in it’ll at least get you to a main road and back into civilization where you can switch to waze or whatever app you prefer. That’s pretty much how I use it.

Google maps has an 'offline maps' function that's worked well for me for this. Which reminds me, I'll be driving to Florida in a couple of weeks, probably be good to get a full east coast offline map downloaded while I'm on wifi.

Time for a cleaning of everything before putting my dash back together. Given that mice have been inside and it's got nearly 300k km's of dust and sand, I'm doing some next level cleaning on it.

I picked up some black 18” rims and installed some new step bars to my new to me 2019 double cab I just purchased the other week. Step bars are 3.5” Tyger brand off Amazon. Super super easy install and a very good bargain for less than $200. Brackets lined up perfectly with factory bolt locations. I’m loving my tundra- SO much more comfortable to drive and better fuel economy than my 2016 4Runner I had for the last 7 years.
I plan on putting some 285/70/R18 all terrains on it soon.

Right before I purchased my Tundra, when I was going off the deep end and being even more neurotic about the vehicle's quirks and features, we had a contractor come by in his 2.5 gen.

So of course I asked him how he liked his truck. He told me, "I absolutely love it, it passes everything except a gas station", and I can say that's probably the most concise & accurate summary of a Tundra that I've heard yet.

I have this same audio system in my truck. I like it, but the sound needs a little more. I was trying to see if it was a JBL, which, now I believe it is not. Thanks. Perfect timing to see this.

Legitimately, how many miles do you guys normally drive with the 38 gallon tank? I feel like it would last me a month assuming 13-14mpg. I'm filling my V8 4runner every week and a half with a 21 gallon tank . 30 mile daily commute

Based on your proposed math problem, you would be able to drive 2.14 weeks, or about 15 days on a 30 gallon usable tank. Not an entire month.

I don’t like it going below half a tank because of what it costs to fill up. I generally put just $40 in it every pay check or whatever it clicks off at when it gets full. But my round trip commute is about 10 miles and that’s just to the gym and back.

winter months about 420mi and thats driving it down to the gas light (which I dont do ESP in winter). Realistically 380-400 before I fill up. Winter warmup/idle time and tons of 4wd (4hi) usage eats that economy up.

in the summer, the screen will say 515 til fill up, but I'm probably filling up after about 480-490.

I unplugged my battery the other day to work under the hood, so my range is now estimating 600 miles on a full tank.

I'll just choose not to question it :lalala:

Austin has always been (depending on your perspective) a scourge or an oasis. Initially music driven/oriented (blues clubs), but the scene definitely changed from mid-late 70's to today. Music -> bars -> bar rats -> businesses* flee -> empty tenant spaces/warehouses -> homeless -> crime -> more businesses* leave -> more vacancies -> artsy crowds -> some minor urban renewal -> Nicer restaurants/ bars/ breweries -> more urban renewal -> gentrification -> hipsters -> Portland, OR.

    *non-bar or music oriented
