Reading Insomnia, by Stephen King. I’m reading the dark tower series for the first time, and was told there are several books that would be beneficial to read in the middle. Insomnia is starting out very…slow lol. Started this series by stumbling upon The Stand and absolutely falling in love with it. I started this book series last fall. Just finished “With the old breed” by E. B. Sledge. Downright incredible what our boys went through in the Pacific (and Europe of course) during WWII. He certainly didn’t glorify war which certain WWII books do, but he did glorify the comradeship amongst the soldiers. Which is the most important aspect in these and similar professions IMHO.

3rd time for me. Read it a while back, did audio book twice, once after watching the Pacific.

Also Ike's Bluff by Evan Thomas, details that Ike was a lot more than a golf player during his two terms.

Listening to the latest this weekend. I’ve lost count of how many there are now. They are wrapping up season 2.

In my spare time, I'm a self proclaimed biblical theologian. I recently went down a rabbit hole of studying Jewish history, specifically the intertestamental period. Today I picked up a copy of the Septuagint which is the Hebrew Bible translated into Greek which has then been translated into English by the NRSV. It contains a copy of the Apocrypha which is a collection of deuterocanonical books mainly written during the 2nd temple (200-100bc) period.

I also bought a copy of Dr. Micheal S Heiser's "The Unseen Realm" which examines the ancient context of Scripture, explaining how its supernatural worldview can help us grow in our understanding of God. He illuminates intriguing and amazing passages of the Bible that have been hiding in plain sight. This is a subject that I have been delving in. I have read many excerpts from the book, just never read the book in its entirety, until now.
