Driving my Tundra this afternoon, and, while going over a hill, heard a loud snap sound from underneath the vehicle and then lost movement. Now sounds like a rattling around the crank case while the engine is running. Truck won't move in any gear now. Can anyone tell me what I may be looking at?

I'm going to agree with Mike here.

Thanks for the quick response! Have it back home now and about to get into it. 200,000 miles in and this may be the first major issue with the truck. One other issue that just started occurring with it before this event, as soon as I would reach the 30 mph plateau a strange, loud noise would begin and then go away as it got up to 40 mph. I don't know how to describe the noise other than it sounding like a bunch of air was being sucked into something and/or mixed with a grinding sound but fairly loud, but lasting only a few seconds as speed increased. Wasn't really affecting engine power but would happen again as speed decreased. Don't know if this has anything to do with the current situation but if anyone has anything on this, appreciate it!

Reminds me of your center bearing on your drive shaft going out.

I haven't had an opportunity to pull it off yet but hopefully this weekend I'll get into it. Will post when I do.

If I can get my 2 month old to take a decent nap, I'm going to attempt to pull the drive train off in the parking lot of our apartment complex.
