I dunno man, crispy Burger King fries are pretty tough to beat.

 

@LarryDangerfield I need you to post a picture of what you call steak fries. Stuff gets weird back east and up by the Canada border.

These. When they are soft and almost dry in the middle.

 

That's a Jojo, check out the wedge shape.

 

That's not a steak fry. That is a potato wedge. To be edible they need something to be dipped in, or an excessive amount of seasoning.

 

These are steak fries. They are not a wedge. It's the equivalent of like 3-4 regular fries laid side by side.

 

So, today we learned Wisconsin uses the wrong names for basic foods.

I suggest a petition that all food related comments/complaints from @LarryDangerfield are required to have a picture attached. This will prevent confusion when is Canada influence naming conventions mislabel items, and should result in a net decrease in arguments pertaining to edible items.

You're not really wrong about potato wedges, though. They aren't the best way to fry a tater.

Steak fries suck; Jojo's are even worse. I completely agree that when it get to big it's nothing more than a bite of baked potato. The fries in that picture are perfect. Stuff a potato into a widget that cuts it to those, soak in water to bring out the starch and then fry nice and hot. Just short of getting too crispy. Then salt generously. Perfect. And easy to make...there's no reason for any restaurant outside of the fast food market to have frozen fries of any kind.

As for fast food, I honestly cannot tell you when I last ate at Burger King. Around here Five Guys and Wendy's have the best fries. I dislike sweet potato fries (too easy to screw up). Shoe string fries are awesome if they're hot, but they get cold and nasty very quickly. I enjoy a good waffle fry as well, but something about them makes them easy to overcook.

Now, if we want to bring this convo full circle...fried pickles are the best if they're in a cornmeal batter!
