Hey gang! Several months ago I've installed Valhalla's Shield (front and rear cat shield). This recent month I've noticed a pronounced metal on metal rattling. It is very noticable when my foot is on the brake and in reverse.

I removed the shields this morning and took the truck on a drive around the block. There were no rattling during the drive or when I was in reverse. So I am assuming the shield is making contact to the underside of the truck.

    Has anyone had this issue?

No rattles with mine but you can reinstall them with rubber washers and strips. You have just had loose bolts as well.

I know the actual tin shields that wrap around the cats themselves can rattle sometimes. I had to pull off one of mine to fix a bad metallic rattle. Could be the culprit. I was able to tap the exhaust with the plastic handle of a screwdriver to re create the sound.

As far as the cat plate, I bought large rubber fender washers to sandwich between every mounting point, you can find these at ace hardware in the bolt section.

My plates were making noise. Had my mechanic remove the middle bolts and we put rubber between those 2 pieces. If you bang on the Valhalla plate mine are aluminum that was the noise I was hearing. Went away.
