My thinking behind this is, I know where I live and work is nice enough so the opportunity of this happening is not high, and when I go out for day-trip offroading, it's also not a problem.
I do worry about the stuff getting stolen when I am away from home for days, in that case, I probably would not be hanging them on the outside of the rack.

Never under-estimate a thief though. They steal cats in broad daylight and have even done it right in front of auto repair shops.

The cost and bad experience with front ADD bumper made me design and make my own high clearance rear bumper. The tow receiver is behind the flip plate.

damn, good points, for that reason, I got the cheapest tools I can get, shovel $9, axe $20, gas can $10, recovery boards free from a friend. the apache box is bolted from within so its hard to get that.

We would always take my buddy's truck in high school cause he had a sliding rear window. Better access to the cooler. Not a model distinction, but def a option preference.

Why, back in my day, we had crew seating space in the "third row" for like, 10 of us kids, trick was not bouncing out of the bed when we hit bumps!

Oh I grew up like that. Would go hunting with my dad and his friend 2 hours away in a snow storm and myself and his nephew would ride in the back tucked up in sleeping bags.

I was talking about these electrified 3rd rows #Ram

I’d like to hear or be directed to info about the bad experience with ADD bumper. I’m bumper shopping and it’s on the list being considered.
    Thanks.

The way it's currently design to mount, you will have a panel gap (the one underneath the headlights) of about 3mm or less. The OEM gap is about 15mm. You will need the gap, maybe more, since the cab and front is on bushings and flexes relative to the frame and bumper. It will rub when it flex, even pop your panels or lights if it flex hard enough. I slotted mine to have 15mm gap like OEM but still rubs. Another reason why chrome plated bumper, the panel just slide when it comes in contact with no damage done to both panel and bumper. I recommend at least 15mm gap, If you can slot it to have 18mm gap.

First time using a plow, wow is that better than the snowblower! (and yes i know this part of the drive isn't fully cleared, it's dirt/gravel and the Tundra has no problem climbing it)

Very nice job! I like that design a lot as it looks very clean and functional. I went with a C4 Overland bumper on the front and I'm currently looking for a rear bumper that suits my needs and taste. If you ever decide to publish the plans let me know.

Today was a fairly warm day here in NC so she had her interior vacuumed out and wiped down, washed and then waxed the exterior. Drove out to see the kiddies this past weekend and drove back in the rain so she had that wonderful road film all over her. Spent the day pampering her at bit and then a nice cup of coffee and cigar when done. The more I drive this Tundra the more I'm loving it! Still getting emails from the Dealership telling me that they'd give me 110% of book value for the Tundra... NO WAY!

Whatever this forum told me to do
I inadvertently rode thru the recent Tornado in Pasadena TX. I was on Beltway 8 as it passed right in front of me

    Scary sh1t.

Debris hits got me 3 windshield spiders & a whallop from a 2x4 on the back passenger door.

was not smart to travel into that storm. that was my 1st encounter with a tornado...and my last!!

Your car wouldn't have made it out of Pasadena without needing a wash anyway.

I've lived here all my life and had never seen one until 2018. I was at a friend's ranch near Eustace and there was an outbreak. We watched an F3 barelling straight at us. We were all thinking we were really going to die. At about 400 yards away it took a sharp left turn and tore through some ranch land and blew up a house. We went to help as soon as we could, and the old folks who lived in the house were sitting in the only 4 square feet they could have been and survived; under a refrigerator that had been tilted over onto a sturdy table, with debris on top and all around. It was harrowing. I hope I never see one again, too.

Never had an encounter with a Tornado, although we do get occasional close calls with some hail. The hail can be sizable at times so the Tundra sits inside overnight and when there are tornado warnings/watches in the area. Glad you're okay! That was a very close one!

Yup, it's a keeper! Especially since I cannot get another one with a V8! :101010:
