I like them…I just am not sure if I want the Ford look upon first glance though as that’s the first thing I think about when I see the inward facing 7’s (those most of theirs are superwhite)

Update on OEM Power Running Boards and Power Step for '22 Platinum trim. If these accessories are not installed at factory, my dealership told me that my wiring harness does not have necessary wires for them. I also contacted Amp-Research and they said they are currently not planning to engineer and manufacture their power running boards for the 3rd Gen Tundra. Of course that could change as this generation continues to be sold.

I just had the dealership install the manual bed step for '22 Platinum trim, seems that the bed step in the retracted (up) position hits the bottom side of rear bumper, is this normal?

I have watched several Tundra 3rd Gen manual bed step installation Youtube videos, but cannot see the gap between the bottom edge of bumper and the top surface of bed step. Reached out to YouTubers but no replies so far. Worried that bed step will continually rub on bottom edge of bumper (damage to plastic and paint) due to vibration while driving. Gotta say, that manual bed step in the retracted position looks horrible from every angle, disappointing considering the high cost for this OEM accessory.

@2020Platinum is pretty active in this forum and has a video on this accessory. Maybe he has some info for you?

Thanks for the reply. Watched this video as well, still cannot tell if the step makes contact with bumper in the retracted position. I think I have already replied to his video, but will check again to see if he can tell me if the step makes contact with the bottom edge of bumper.

There is little to no gap on my factory bed step… Another reason why I took it off

Any chance that it just needs to be broken in to settle in a lower position?

Hey!... I apologize if you commented on the video and I didn't get back to you yet!... the gap is extremely minimal, I'll take a couple of close pictures for you as soon as it stops down pouring! Lol... that was originally a minor concern for me as well but so far there has been no damage/scratching to the bumper underneath in that area

I looked at the installation to make sure it was done properly. That checks out. There is a small circular piece of rubber/neoprene bumper/cushion that used on the retractable step between two metal surfaces. Since the bed step is spring loaded, when retracted the two metal parts make contact when in the upright position. I am looking at replacing that rubber with a thicker piece or just adding another bumper on top of it. It is under compression all the time except when the bed step is lowered. I tried a small round rubber grommet just to see if that would help and that seems to keep the bed step from touching the bottom of the bumper. Just a 1/4" is all that is needed and looks like it will not cause any issues with it deploying on its own.

In my opinion this is the best build. Haven't seen it in person since the huge transformation, but I've talked with him and excited to see what else he does ! @evergreenoffroad. After watching I think the cbi skid plates are perfect, even acts as has a cat sheild as well.

My power step has about .5-.75 inch clearance. My manual one I added to my pro was around .5 inches

Did you add the power step yourself? Or dealer after purchase? What about wiring it up to existing harness and switch? Tie into existing wiring harness?

I have Platinum that did not come with power step, dealership was to add once it became available. They told me just this month that my wiring harness would not work. The power step looks better installed and also looks like it is higher off ground making it easier to climb into tailgate. Can you confirm. Thx.

I like it a lot better. I’ll miss the pro looks and resale value but I like the black headliner, power boards, ambient lighting, better seats and turn radius makes driving it better

on paper the difference isn’t much, but I feel it’s better than before. I went from crv to pro to crv to platinum so in between each I had identical cars and it feels easier to drive by a good amount

There's been a lot of questions on fitment of a winch on the CBI bumper with a hybrid, just posted the video...it honestly fit a lot easier than I expected (minor modification)...hope it helps anyone with a hybrid looking at a winch!

Matte black vinyl (?) sticker to cover the piano black on the shifter trim piece. The matte black is a good match to the drive mode and 4wd buttons but the execution of the piece could've been better- there's an L shaped dip/edge on the right and bottom sides that makes it difficult to get the sticker to stick.

I am looking for something to hold my snowboard in place in the bed while I’m driving, I was wondering if the tie down rails have any sort of attachment for this? I’ve tried to research but it’s a hard thing to put into a search engine lol
