I have a PS5 boxed up and ready for Santa to deliver it to my 12 year old. He may need to fight me for it when I get GoW Ragnarok though........

 

That's gonna be one happy kid. Both of them.

I managed to get my hands on the PS5 Horizon II bundle earlier this year. Finished the game, then started into Spider-man which I got bored with and couldn't get through, and its been sitting there collecting dust for months as I've been playing other stuff on PC. But I'll fire it up soon as I never played the newer GoW which I got on a $10 sale. Then I'll likely grab Ragnarok after that. I've otherwise only played GoW 1 & 2 way back when.

 

Prepare to be blown away by GoW both in graphics and storyline

 

Anyone with a well taken care of NES may possibly be sitting on one of these

 

Can confirm there will be fighting. (In Gow Ragnarok as well. lol)

 

He goes to his Dad's every other weekend as well as Tues & Thurs lol

I haven't picked up Elden Ring yet. I saw it go on sale on Steam, but I'm not ready to jump in yet. This is the type of game I won't be able to put down so I held off.

 

Just finished GOW Ragnarok this morning. Absolute masterpiece.

 

Picked up Cyberpunk 2077 3-4 months ago (with all the DLC) when it was 75% off. I’ve never had a game give me such mixed emotions. It is stable and very playable with hundreds of missions, but when you play it long enough you see just how unfinished the game really is. Lots of missed opportunities for more “depth and breath” in the characters, missions, physics, graphic art and world creation.

It is a great game if you purchase it on sale cuz then all the gaps are not a big deal.

 

I'm waiting on the Collector's Edition to arrive then I'll get started...can't wait.

 

I love that game! I started into it about a month after it released on PC. It was rock stable for me from the beginning, never had any issues with it. I got hooked on it and completed 4 back-to-back play-throughs. But I've still yet to play any of the DLCs. I've been itching to give them a go, but I still have God of War 3 and Ragnarök that I'd like to get through first after I wrap up Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

 

I’m playing thur a second time now with a different character to get a few achievements I missed the first time thru. Not sure I can grind it again for the 3rd character…

 

Agreed. Not sure if I shared it, but there's a part near the end (no spoilers, much) where his wife spoke to him about what grieving means.

Having lost my Dad in 2019, I legit almost lost it at that point.

 

The part with the wolf at the beginning kicked my ass. I actually had to stop for a minute after that. We lost our dog we had for 17 years last year and that cut scene was very similar to what I went through.

Did you beat Gna? That’s the last thing I have to do for platinum and I’m having hell with it. Haven’t even come really close.

I was on a rip one day and got about 1/2 way through beating her, then got stomped. LOL

 

Finally played through God of War after a couple of you guys here (@War Machine @TucsonTundra1794) recommended it a while back. You guys are 100% right, I had a blast! There were a few surprises I wasn't aware of,

like the shift to Norse mythology, and I was expecting to have the blades at first and didn't realize they would show up half-way through the game. It was awesome too how the blades combat worked out in 3rd person as I otherwise had my doubts, but it was really well done.

The combat mechanics are just awesome!

I wrapped up the main story over the weekend and was going to continue

freeing some remaining Valkyries

and other activities and also go after upgrades and then start a NG+ with all the goodies. However right now, I'm more interested in starting Ragnarok. But damn, that $70 price tag... sigh.

Anyway, easily one of the best $10 I've spent on a game.

 

Get on Ragnarok so we can compare notes! I'll probably start it this weekend while my kid's at his dad's lol

 

I played it through 3 times and maxed out the special armor set, first 2 were back to back then picked it up again. First game that I was able to platinum without feeling like I was working through pointless tasks. I'm about 20% into the new one and it's just as fun.

 

Did you kill all the Valkryies?

 

Yes, this was necessary for the platinum. Some were very hard, the final one was brutal. I don't want to give up too much but it immediately starts with giving you a huge disadvantage.

 

I have only killed 3 but finished the game. I'm still tempted to go back and find the others. The one realm with poison gas has got me stumped tho

 

You need the armor set that slows the effect of the gas. It's a lot of back and forth into the very back area where you get all the items to upgrade it. Once your fully upgraded its actually an easier one to beat. Rush in, run to the left and don't battle anything on your way there. Defeat the Valkyrie and rush out.

 

Any tips on the V?

 

On the final one? Don't let her touch you. Her combos are deadly. Most of your time should be blocking and smashing the shoot arrow button. You'll get chances to attack but they will be brief and don't try long combos, attack quick and jump back. The one in muspelheim will also be difficult.

Ha you'd think! 100's of arrows and his damage hardly comes close to the small attacks you can get in. If you depending on solely him you'd be fighting for a long long time.
