Thank you SaltyHero13, I got the SG3 and it is an amazing piece of kit!
Within minutes, have it set up temps to monitor for:
    Coolant
    Trans Oil 1-2
    Cats 1-4
    Tires 1-4
    HP
    TQ
    Load
    Intake Air Temp

Scangauge 3 is an option as well. It will automagically scan for things to monitor. It is customizable as well.

Thank you SaltyH! Was looking for someting better than SG2, and SG3 was the exact answer! Just wish the wire was more discreet, but I need to know what is going on more than if it is pretty.

Which OBD adapter do you have? A few of us use OBD Fusion.

I have the OBDLink MX+. The app is free and the Toyota specific pids are also free. Very customizable. Easy to use and don’t need to enter pid calculations to make a gauge work.

OBD Fusion on iOS with the Veepeak Bluetooth adapter for me. It tends to lock up once every few hours on a long trip, but for the price it's a great combination.

Purchase the Enhanced Diagnostics for your vehicle and it'll have the PIDs you need for monitoring your trans and torque converter temps.

Im a little surprised you can get engine oil temp out of the computer. Does it seem to be accurate? Had a Subaru that showed oil temp and it warmed much slower than coolant and even transmission fluid (sometimes).

991C981D-BC92-42E5-9D17-9BD616DC462B.jpg I use fusion with the veepeak scanner and it’s been great. I place my phone down sideways by the shifter so I can read the gauges better. I made the tranny info bigger because that’s what I’m more concerned with. Like other people the button around the gear selection lights up when the tc is locked.

Honestly I'm not sure, seems about right but I don't have an external sensor/gauge to verify.

Did you buy the $9.99 enhanced diagnostic pack to see the trans temp? I don't see it listed under the SAE options.

What is the torque converter listed under in the enhanced version of OBD Fusion? Which is the ATF Pan temp - A/T oil temperature 1 or 2?

Pan is A/T Oil Temperature 1 and the Torque Converter is A/T Oil Temperature 2

    Awesome, thank you.

Do you know if there is an alternator output and battery voltage meter in OBD Fusion? I see a couple that might be it but not sure exactly what it is monitoring. The “status of the battery voltage” reads 13.1 consistently for me.

    Holy smoke, that's cool.

So silly question... this is all Bluetooth from the scanner, correct? So an old phone that's not activated on an account could download the app on wifi and then be dedicated to just be a BT monitor for this?

How difficult was is to get your set up and formatted for this?

That's basically all the same info I'd want. TC and Pan temps mostly, given I have a '19 with no external cooler and tow a travel trailer... Anything beyond that, gear, TC lockup, oil and coolant temps, etc. would all be a bonus.
