Gonna need at least a 15 minute buffer if I wanna be early. 5 minutes would probably have us right on time and we all know if you're not 10 minutes early, you're late.

    THIS!
i was invited to go there for a friend's bachelor party. i've been before and never had much of a desire to go again. when we were there, one of our friends was from the Ukraine. he had only lived in the states for about 5-10 years at that point, and it was primarily school and work for him. we brought him out and after being on bourbon street for less than 5 minutes, he was asking WTF was that smell and why are the streets wet. mind you, this was not during mardi gras. this was a regular weekend in New Orleans on bourbon street (pretty much new orleans on a regular day:rolleyes:). i said thats the smell of bourbons street. liquor, piss, and puke. the streets were typically wet, whether it had rained in the past week or not.o_O

personal opinion....those hand grenades are weak and crap.
i did have a drink called the jester that had everclear in it. i drank mine and my buddy's before going to the "club". gave me a good buzz, but i was also about 3-4 pitchers in by then. my friends/family regretted taking my money to pay for my drinks on my bachelor party that night. bourbon street can sell "good deals" and "cheap beer", but they didn't get away cheap with me:rofl:

Is Pat O'Brien's still a thing? I had a few hurricanes there when I was 18 and enthralled with the idea of being drunk. I don't remember much about the night except walking in to Pat O'Brien's and seeing the fire fountains; and looking in the door of a club on Bourbon Street and seeing a naked woman on a swing. I also remember the hangover from a hurricane is no joke. A bit like the aftermath of an actual hurricane.

I believe so, but don't quote me. I try to avoid most of New Orleans stuff as its pretty much the toilet of our country (hence it being bowl shaped :poking:)
the hurricanes (drink) are subjective to the recipient and the creator. some are awesome, while others are just terrible "roofie-coladas" with their potency

I did have a few "artisan" hurricanes while there (not on Bourbon St) that were tasty. But I still prefer my tequila, soda, and lime.

For alcohol, I'm more of a raw ingredients guy. I'm happy with a margarita, and I can make a better one than you can buy; but I'd rather just have a sip of great tequila. Same for something like an old fashioned or manhattan; just give me the whiskey. Maybe I've just mutated into a low-fun codger.
