I've recently coated my truck with Undrdog (Jan 1st weekend). Hadn't got much precipitation until recently but this strange drip/run I noticed is throwing me for a loop. At first it was only on the back directly underneath the little square caps in the bed rails. Very similar to the lines people have sent from using mother back to black on plastics only thing is I didn't do any of the area with the coating. I've cleaned it once and they were gone. Then drove in the rain a few days ago and it's in a few more places and on box side under the bed rails. This time it seems that it sort of smeared with the wind ? I don't get it just yet. Only thing different is the coating being on the truck. Don't have much experience with different coatings yet.

Was it flashed for long in the sun by chance? Maybe polish it off and try a small area, in the same area again

@T-Rex266 Nah, 7 minutes per instructions...it's doing it in the same spot on both sides of truck bed with the smeared look from wind. The other couple spots are just straight drip lines from window moulding type areas. Super weird.

    All done indoors

All good dude. Very odd. Is there any sort of product on the plastic bed caps? Those look directional (front to back) if I'm not mistaken from the picture orientations. Something seems to be on the bedsides, dripping, running down, and blowing laterally.

Does it wipe off with a microfiber and a quick detail spray?

Yup, wipes off pretty easy. Haven't put anything on the bed caps for well over a year I'd say if not more. Was a drip like from bed rail caps but hadn't driven in highway or much at all. Then after first wash I thought, eh, it came off. Back again, drive in rain and after it dried it had that smear look. Now it's covered in snow but I can go check to see if there's a change.

Wasn't a thing prior to coat. At least not like that. Was just a regular water run or drip

Can you literally wipe it off with your finger? Without needing a spray or rag?

Yup. Comes back with frost, rain anyfirm of moisture apparently. It looks like a dark tint to it, best I can describe. Like you'd see with a back to black type product but it hadn't done that or been there prior to finish and there's that weird smearing from the wind.. It wipes off with a finger but I supposed I should look in different lighting to see if it's actually gone. Wet heavy snow atm so...

That is odd. Do they salt/sand the roads near you? And did you coat the rubber seals around windows, plastic bed caps, etc? How long did the truck cure before it got wet? Was it entirely dry before you coated it? And do those areas return in the exact same spots/shape/size? Would be hard to tell that but just asking.

Almost looks like it's simple dirt/runoff that is just blowing down the side of the truck. But if it comes back with frost after being wiped off and undriven, it may could be a curing issue if it got wet too soon after it was applied.

Only applied it to the paint and the black on mirror arms. Cured 24 plus hours indoors after coated. It did mist the day I pulled it outta garage. Just weird that it looks like I applied to bed caps. Totally dry prior to coating. Sat in the garage a day before coating, polished some areas up, ipa wipe before coating..

They do salt roads but iirc I don't think we had that done around the first. Weather was pretty quiet. I'd think it's do it in more areas if it were a salt related issue. Hell idk.

Seems they come back same spots after also. After the next wash I'll just have to see if it happens again.

Yeah see if it happens again. It looks like my truck right now that isn't coated and hasn't been washed in months but has a solid sealant on it. Just common areas water will deposit the dirt in it as it gets wicked off the vehicle. I've got similar lines on my besides ill take some pics when I get home. Come right off.

So, I doesn't sound/look like a screw up on application at least. Just so weird that it's only happening in these isolated spots. Just expected everything to bead or sheet off the same for the most part. Probably over thinking the whole thing. Thanks. Will update

Not the same because my truck isn't coated, just their one year spray so you don't see the lateral wicking....but here's how my truck looks currently (and most of the time actually lol I'm lazy and too busy). Wipes right off. Nothing on side caps. It's underneath the windows and handles too. Just accumulated junk runoff from rain.
