Finally I was able to fixed the problem with my Tundra. "No started in cold weather" I replaced the fuel pump and the crack sensor. Now it will start with no problem no matter how cold it is. The only problem is that it start, run for about 5 minutes and then shut-off. It will no start back until I wait around 2 hour. then it will start again and do the same thing. I already have a new American made fuel pump, oem crack sensor, new injectors, new spark plugs and coil. I wonder if this 2010 Tundra has an inline fuel filter?

I believe the 2010s only have the in tank strainer. No fuel filter on the frame rail. Have you checked your fuel pump control module? Seems like that is a somewhat common issue on 2nd gens.

When your truck dies, cranking for a bit trying to start it should wet the spark plugs pretty good I would think.

Pull a couple after doing this, see if the plugs are wet...?

If so, then you're not getting spark. If plugs are bone dry, you're not getting fuel.

Gotta narrow it down between fuel or spark first!

I'm not a second gen guy. Just what I've seen fix others issues in the past from various threads around here. That was the only idea I had. Hopefully someone else can jump in and give some better recommendations for your specific issue.

Where did you buy your crank sensor from? You say OEM but did it come from Toyota? Could you have purchased one online marketed as OEM but is a knockoff.

From reading these boards the crank sensor is often replaced when it really doesn’t need to be. Seems the ECU likes to throw this code. It’s worth the few minutes to put the original factory one in and see if it makes any change.

A previous user installed one from a chain auto parts store and it was doing weird stuff. Putting the factory crank sensor back in fixed all the problems.

    Worth a shot..

I danced around with the crank sensor when my starter went out. Don't remember which I left in there tbh.. I bought an Import direct sensor from O'reilly and remember troubleshooting it, since I needed my truck back ASAP... I think the Import Direct is still in there, I'll have to look for the box since I kept it the oem sensor or aftermarket one, just in case... Its been about 4 years.. since it was pre-covid. Truck runs fine for now....

I had a GM truck that the crank sensor would stop working when the engine warmed up.

To be clear, the engine will crank, but not start after running for 5 minutes? The engine dies on its own after 5 minutes? Then starts immediately after it cools down in a few hours?

Correct, it will crank and not start after 5 minutes. It will dies on it own. Start right back up after cools down in a few hours.

EUREKA!!!! I took the advise and put back the old crank sensor and now the truck is running fine. Seems that the fuel pump and the fuel control module were the problem. Thanks guys. After 1 1/2 year dealing with this finally it is fixed.

That’s what we like to hear. If this forum has taught me one thing it’s never to remove the OEM crank sensor no matter the trouble code and if you do make damn sure you buy one from the Toyota parts desk to put back in it

Probably a dumb question, but you did do a relearn after replacing sensor?
