So I'm dying for a pro grill, but given all the reasons that's probably not happening I'm trying to think of other ideas. Has anyone plastidipped the grill bars on an sr5 grill? Yes I know it'll chip and whatnot but it's a good reversible tester....I'm thinking this, bumper ends and adding spyder headlights at some point (aka after wife approval)

Yes, plenty of times. Apply many thin coats for best results.

I've done my bumper ends and it's held up pretty well. Few spots where rocks or something has hit it and I can tell, but nothing bad yet where I need to redo it. Have had it done for a few months now.

I did the surround but did not do the bars because I was in the same boat as you. Looking at the pictures above I may come back and do the bars and bumper ends at the same time.

Sorry in advance for the thread jacking, but TTU19, how did you handle the foglights and if you have them the sensors when you plasti dipped the corners?

Dont have the sensors, but I'm sure you can easily tape them off. As for the fogs, I took mine out of the bumper. If you have a trim tool, you can easily pry from the top and or bottom to pop them out. Disconnect and done. Then they just snap back in, very easy.

Did you just tape off the center plastic (bottom valence/grille) and spray around? End up with pretty nice edges?

Pictures would be great! I'm actually in northwest Arkansas but that could still work out. Are you talking about grill pieces or bumper ends?

You should get a black grille from a Plat if the Pro is really really really no longer available.

That would look pretty good too....for some reason I thought it was a different black, like more metallic or something. Maybe I'm thinking of my old ford. Different packages came in different blacks

Dip all that chrome. It will look mad aggressive. Watch you tube for technic. Evedently I didn't put the coats on "wet" enough and have a semi rough texture. I'm digging it though.20170730_115956-1.jpg

U just need middle piece in gray? Not bottom thats in black? U can see the scratches on the shiny black i bought this with a pro grille "middle piece" which i took off thats why the black is with the sr5 stock "middle piece"

Thanks! It's actually satin paint with 4 or 5 coats of clear coat. Dunno if that shows in the pic but I figured I can go plastidip if I don't like it
