I installed some LED bulbs in my 2000 Tundra. They work as normal except for one issue. I can't turn the headlights off with the switch when the truck is running. They turn of when I shut the truck down and if Accessory is on, they will turn off when I turn the switch. However, if the engine is running, the switch only turns off the dash lights. I searched and couldn't find an answer in here so if this has been solved, please point me in the right direction! Thanks

You need to put a load in the system so it thinks it has regular bulbs in it. You need an inline headlight resistor to hook up and mount on one side.

Do you usually have daytime running lights?

Did you bother to install a resistor with the LEDs?

Um, normally you can't do that anyway. The Day time running lights are always on, when the truck is on, unless you disable them (which is almost the first thing I did after getting my truck)

Yeah, that sounds like normal operation if you have DRLs, your halogens should have acted the same way, maybe they were just on dim to notice :)

Simple to get rid of DRLs if you care, there’re write ups on the forum (I’ve never done it), I’m pretty sure you just unplug one connector in the engine bay.
