This forum seems to be the place for this question, but let me know if there's a better spot.

I'm planning a BMC on a 2018 CM. Currently running 295/70r18 on stock wheels with spidertrax spacers but next set of tires will either be 35x12.5 or potentially a 37x12.5. Either way, I'll need a BMC to fully clear with no rubbing. Hell, I even had some rubbing with the 295's when they were brand new.

I'm going to do the work myself but wanted input on which plate I should consider. Any favorites or are any better than others? I see there are several out there but they have different shapes and bend profiles to them.

    What do you guys think?

I’ve only tried the Relentless plates. Makes the job a lot easier. But if you need a really aggressive chop, the angle of the bend isn’t the best. I had to cut it in half at the bend to make it fit properly.

If I had to do it again, I’d probably just fab my own plates. And if you’re going 37’s, you need a way more aggressive chop than just 35’s. Don’t plate it until after you get your wheels on. There’s a good chance you’ll need to cut more once the wheels are on and it sucks doing it twice.

Yea I was planning to get pretty aggressive with it. I don’t want to do it more than once.

I was trying to avoid making my own plates though. Any of the prefabbed options that lend themselves better to an aggressive chop?

I don’t think I’m ready to do the cab mount relocate. Something about that seems a bit outside of what I need but for a guy wanting to go nuts that’s a pretty slick solution. Looks like it would go great on a build like Rey’s! His truck is sick. Mine will be just ok :)

What @joonbug said. I made one side 3 or 4 times. Comically dumb until I decided to make some templates.20220309_192138.jpg

Just throwing this out for those that don't think about risks or original design intent...

Cab mount stock location helps keep the tire off your legs in a offset front collision that pushes the tire back. Firewall not so strong on its own.

Coastal offroad looks pretty good. Got them sitting in the shop waiting for some downtime to redo mine that a shop botched.
