2022 Tundra Topper / CAP

Has anyone heard if LEER / ARE / ??? are coming out with a topper anytime soon? LEER told me last year it would be by Q1 2022 which has come and gone now and they haven't responded as of late.

I was told a couple weeks ago that ARE has the molds made and are in testing. "Could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months"

I check daily to see if they've been released.

Just ordered a Leer 100xr for my 6.5 crewmax. 2-3 weeks out.

 

Awesome how was the pricing on that? Haven't bought one for anything other than a Tacoma before.

 

I went to Cap World and they called the LEER factory on the spot and were able to place an order with delivery in 6-8 weeks with all the options I wanted(windoor sliders, headliner, roof rack, etc..).

Do you know if it's just the 100xr model available or if they've released others as well? Also, how's the price?

 

I ordered a 100XR. LEER said they only have two available right now, the 100XR and the 100XL. I paid around $3,800 but that was with a bunch of extra options I wanted. The base price seemed to be around $2,700 so right inline with what I expected.

I'm wanting a midrise and I was told by my local ARE dealer that that series probably won't be available until the end of the year.

Did they by chance tell you the exact specs on the new topper? Wondering if I can find a cheap used one on CL that would "work" for the time being...

 

If you are looking for the dimensions no they didn't mention those, they said they were finishing up fitting / testing right now though. I do know that it will have the same clamp system as the Tacoma caps due to the composite bed which might make it difficult for you to find a used one unless there is another truck with a similar system.

 

I also inquired about this. Still waiting to get my truck I live in Canada, i was quoted with tax 4700 CDN, From CapIt ( truck accessories place in Alberta) That was colour match, keyless entry and roof racks. Hope I hear about my truck soon. Also hope these trucks can handle the cold, as i live in one of the coldest places in Canada where its gets to -58 no windchill.

 

Well it's already the end of the 2nd week of 2023, and neither ARE nor LEER have a 2022 Midrise mentioned anywhere. Any updates?

 

I ordered a Leer 100XR in the spring I think and it came by September or October. The thing has lots of water leaks QC is pretty non existent. Luckily they were able to adjust the seal on the front of the box to reduce the water entering. Unfortunately it still leaks through one of the side flip up doors

 

Dang. Was just about to order a Leer. Only a windoor problem?

 

It was just a single seal issue but it’s just one more appointment to need to coordinate which sucks

 

I should be getting my ARE DCU MAX topper sometime next month, without any windows, will report back.
