So I am in the process of attempting to install a powered bed cover and am wondering if anyone else has an answer to the above question. Is there a way to hook the wiring into the battery via a fuse terminal or can I access the battery under the seat in some way? I am hitting blind on this one and welcome any help!

I would just tap the battery under the driver side rear seat with a in-line fuse rig.

But how do I run the wire without pulling half the rear seat out, I have the JBL system and the sub is right behind the seat so access through the back wall is a no-go. I have looked all under the truck for a plug that I can run the wiring through and have found nothing, that's why I want to try a fuse connection but with all the electronics I'm a little leary and the dealer won't help.

I have an fuel transfer tank and I went under the driver's seat, come from the bottom and you will see a rubber grommet, pull it out, drill a hole, then run the wire under the plastic piece under the door. I went under the carpet and under the back panel under the back seat. There is a YouTube video on it but I can't find it

Again the JBL system gets in the way, there is a large metal box mounted under the driver's seat that blocks me from gaining access by hand to the floor beneath it. I actually found the plug from under the truck but I can't get my hand under the seat to find where it is at. This is the most frustrating truck I think I have ever owned! I will see if I can find the video myself as well and will post it here if I do find it. Thanks!

JBL system doesn't prevent it, it just makes it more work. That system can be removed as it isn't a permanent fixture. I get not wanting to mess with it, but saying that it blocks you isn't quite accurate.

Question: does the Tundra have a power outlet in the bed like the Tacomas? Is there a way to tap into that, perhaps?

So yes, I could remove it but I'm trying not to go into that much detail. Toyota should have provided better access to the battery than they did. My goal is now to run the wire to the firewall and go in through the access point and run down along the door sill. Still more than I should have to do but at least I'm not disassembling the truck as much. And yes I do have an outlet at the back of the bed but I believe that it is a 110 outlet.

You don't have to remove it. The wire will just run under the carpet. Mine has the same thing under the seat

Not permanently remove, but it would have to be temporarily removed for access, and that is more than the OP is willing to do.

I'm not disbelieving. I honestly don't know, but that is what I have understood from the OP. He had countered your statement saying that he couldn't access the floor to drill a hole because of the sub. IDK either way as I don't have the truck. I'm just following the journey here. Please, don't get angry because I'm not understanding. If you have a solution for the OP's issue that is awesome and ultimately what this community is about, but sometimes explaining it in text takes a bit of time. Misunderstandings happen.

Do you by chance remember the youtuber you saw the video from? I can help try to locate the video, perhaps?

I will share some photos later today but I finally found the plug under the driver's seat and was able to access it without removing anything except the popup kick panel. From there I just reached my hand under the carpet and pulled the wiring through and ran it down the drip channel to the back seat and up to the battery. Thanks, everyone for the info!

Pretty simple photos but there is a plug that you can easily reach from under the drivers seat in between the carpet and the padding. Just pull the wire up through the hole and run down the drain/wire channel under the plastic trim to the back seat and then up through the carpet into the battery. It was MUCH easier than I thought it would be you just have to make sure that the plug goes back in to prevent water from getting into the cab. If anyone wants more info I will be glad to post more photos. Thanks again for the suggestions!!

You will want to silicone around your wire really well, not just around the loom. Water will work its way up and into the cab.
