17" Method wheels...what tire size, no lift?

I am hemming and hawing on whether or not to lift this truck right now. I enjoy the ride as is and I don't do much off-roading but I definitely want a better looking stance and set up. The wheels I got from method have zero offset and are basically the factory setup...from what I was told. What is the largest tire I could probably run on them without changing anything else on the truck? Has anybody got any pictures of a 17-inch wheel with the larger tire but not lifted? I'd love to see what the Tundras might look like without a lift, but larger off-road tires!

Question... I'm slightly confused on offset. I didn't want much poke on mine, so when talking with Method, the suggestion a the 706 with the factory setup. So I believe it's 35m? I was told I most likely can't fit larger than 295/75/17. Any thoughts on that? Can I fit 34s?

You can fit 34s no problem. 315/70 is a smidge bigger than 34”. You can even fit 35” with no lift but you’ll need to do a little trimming

Wheel offset is the offset from the center of the wheel to the mounting points. It’s not the difference from factory specs. So 0 offset doesn’t mean it’s the same as factory setup. I believe stock wheels are still +60 on the 3rd gen. That’s almost a 2.5 inch difference. You need to figure out exactly what offset you have before buying tires.

 

From my observations not a lot of 17” wheels have positive offsets. 18” have more of a selection of + offsets

No lift, just removed the metal piece behind the liner and no rubbing.

 

How is the clearance of the caliper on the wheels. I have been told that it will rub the inner wheels

I have the Sema TRD 17 with 285/70/17 duratracs I just wan to know if the wheel will spin freely without the calipers tubing on the wheels

 

You have the truck. You have the wheel. Only you know for sure.

Jack the truck up and spin the wheel. If it doesn’t make contact with anything you should be ok. I have 17” on my truck for over a month now.

 

How hood is the clearance? Between the caliper and the wheel?

 

About 3/8”

 

WoW actually u have more clearance. I may have 1/8 or less

I am running method 703s +35 offset on 315/70/17. Before a level I had to remove the mudflaps in the front and pin back the liner so it wouldn't rub. Never tried to see if stretching it out touched anywhere

 

This is the same size setup I am looking at as well - Method 705's +35, with 315's. Do you have any pics you can please share? And no issues hitting any components - just the flap and liner, before you lifted it??

 

Correct. I was a little paranoid, so actually tried the rim on the wheel just to see what clearance was like on the components behind it. Here is a video I took of that if it is helpful at all.
