Interesting, recently I took something out from the storage under the rear seat and I thought it was slightly wet… didn’t put too much thought into it but now I’m wondering if it’s a similar issue… need to check it more closely especially with the amount of rain we’re getting lately…

Definitely look into it. I noticed heavy condensation and increased humidity inside my truck for weeks before eventually finding the large leak under the seat. Hope yours is resolved quickly!

Currently, just tinted windows. Looking to change out the grille and swap wheels and tires.
Check out most every manufacturer and you will find that most of them don't have rain sensing wipers in lower trims. Is the Tundra the perfect truck? No, but none are. I have very few "complaints" about my platinum hybrid. MPG could be better, but I'm getting better MPG than on my '21 Tacoma TRD Off-road. Still less than 3k miles on the Tundra and I've heard MPG's get better with time. I'm getting about 19mpg in a 4x4 hybrid, mixed driving and on the highways, usually doing around 80-85 in Florida, so can't get that 24 that's advertised because around here nobody drives 65/70 on the highways LOL. Here are the things I wish the Tundra had:

    • Use of battery at speeds of 25/30 or less. That would be sweet, I've been able to only use battery up to 15mph not flooring the peddle. This would help many people with mpg especially driving through neighborhoods.
    • Similar Pro-power in the truck bed like the F150 hybrid would be sweet.
    • Toyota switching to the Google Automotive(not to be confused with android auto), so that the infotainment could be better with better functionality. I mainly use the android auto, but the google automotive would be much better than what they have.
    • Storage under rear seat would be nice.
    • Front Tow-hooks. Not that big a deal for me, and can easily add the aftermarket hooks. I was in a '21 RAM1500 Classic for a month that didn't have front hooks, so I know they don't all come with them.

It's a sweet truck though. Can't tell you how many people have expressed how much they like it and are now interested in one that I've spoken to.

Man, that 7.2kw bed with 240v power is the only reason I heavily considered the Powerboost engine. So handy! If Toyota (or any other brand) did that, it'd be a game changer for sure

Facts! I was also considering the F150, for that feature as well. After driving them both though and comparing the Lariat model, having to spend an extra $8k to get one without two-tone interior was just not as attractive. Also, I like the Tundra look a little better and the overall driving experience.

Silverado EV and Sierra EV will have that same type of reverse charging like the F150.

We had a heavy storm last night and I checked it today and it seemed to be fine but I will definitely keep an eye on it and check regularly!

    The things I miss most:
    110v outlets
    Heated Steering wheel
    Rain Sensing Wipers

Especially with the 6-9 months waiting times last year and the different package combinations, it was impossible for me to find a Limited 4x4 TRD OR with the power package.

I have a 2023 Platinum Hybrid and I love everything about my truck. I love the interior and all of the cameras, the composite bed with lights, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, and I really like the 20" rims. Maybe I lied. The only thing I don't like about my truck is the price.

What irks me the most is that it probably costs Toyota more to install non rain sensing wipers on their lower trims rather than to just install them on every car and truck across the board. Same with things like auto up/down window switches. They’re spending more to give us less so we’ll buy a higher trim. It’s just so petty.[/QUOTE]

I'm a little surprised to see how many of y'all are focused on rain sensing wipers. But I get it - convenience. It's those little tech things that prevent the Big 3 from (GENERALLY) creating as reliable of a vehicle as Toyota does. Is the Tundra perfect? No, as many have stated, there have been some hiccups, especially with early-mid 2022s, but Toyota doesn't settle until things are fixed properly from a manufacturing standpoint.

Rain sensing wipers, in my opinion, are a convenience I don't need/don't want to pay for. The supporting technology required for their install is much greater than our boring turn-to-engage standard wipers. Maybe goes without saying, but it would actually cost the LEAST if Toyota would apply standard wipers across the board. I don't think it's petty; "luxury" trims = higher willingness to pay. New model such as Tundra = not a feature at launch, but might get applied later?

+1 (maybe -1?) for turn radius being absolutely atrocious.

I had a lot of glare on the infotainment screen too, especially with the moonroof open. I got a matte finish screen protector off Amazon and it helps with the glare a lot!

Bought a 2023 limited crewman iforce max hybrid for $67,000 after the toyota of orange tricked me into signing over my 2019 tuscon with 31,000 miles. They said they gave me a $16,000 discount for my vehicle but somehow I still paid $67,000 cash!!!!! Is it possible to get that $16,000 back from them or do I have no case because they got me to sign the paperwork? (under pressure, distraction tactics and confusion)

You said "Toyota of Orange" so I assume you are in CA. Huge sign on the wall of the dealer as well as the contract... "CA has no 'cooling off period'..."

    Caveat emptor my friend...

Have 2023 Platinum Hybrid, it has auto rain sensing wipers, heated steering wheel and 120 volt outlet in bed. Get 16-16.5 mpg in city driving (Orange County CA). Just drove 2000 miles to Chicago and got 19.4 mpg(hand calculated). Ran 87 octane gas and normal mode and ran speed limit +5 (75-85 mph). Had 20mph head wind all the way across Nebraska and Iowa. Came from 2019 F250 power stroke, miss storage under rear seat, dash indicator showing gear you are in and the 6’9” bed. Don’t miss the rough ride and $180 diesel fuel fill ups. Overall like the Platinum and I get a lot of compliments on the Blueprint color.

My 2023 Platinum force max has rain sensing wipers on it, and they do work as advertised. :)

I just purchased a ‘24 TRD Pro. I absolutely love my truck. I haven’t filled up yet so I don’t have any real data. I’m still breaking in my baby so I’m sure the MPG will fluctuate a bit. I’ve also upgraded the tires to Nitto Recon Grappler LT295/70/18 so the data won’t be accurate at this time.

I guess I have two minor complaints. First, I wish there was storage under the rear seats but that’s where the battery lives on the hybrids. I’ve made due by moving stuff behind the rear seats. I just the Toyota first aid kit and reusable grocery bags lol. Second, I wish the a/c button lit up during the day. They're very hard to see what I’m trying to select. Maybe a software update can resolve that? Who knows…. I am still getting used to the location of all of the buttons. I traded in a Tesla Model Y which had no buttons lol.

What are you getting in the city driving?
I get 11-12mpg driving in sf daily :( with my non hybrid.

I test drove a hybrid and got about 19mpg city.

I just bought a 2023 Platinum non hybrid, long bed 4x4. They had 2 trucks there, one hybrid and one non hybrid. The Hybrid, had a tad more power, but it also had the AVS, which I didn't like but it had the Air bags in the back which I did like. Both long beds, but it was silver. Mine is MGM and I love the color. if you plan on getting a Tonneau cover, then the understorage doesn't matter in the back seat. you can get so many cool options to get storage by the wheel wells. like you can't ever use that room anyways lol. I wanted the Long bed because I wanted to put my ATV in the back and being able to close my tailgate. I hated my 5.5 bed in my 2018. However my MPG in the City isnt the greatest. when I test drove the Hybrid I got better mpg and I got the battery to kick in while driving. I really thought about it, if it were only like $3kmore for the hybrid I would have gone with that one. but it was $5500 difference because it had the HUD and the AVS. which both features I didn't care about. Plus it wasn't the right color for me. Driving Experience I think that the hybrid is worth the extra $3k I just couldn't justify the $5500 difference. I'll never make that up in MPG, however I'm starting to think otherwise. I did just order my Bak X4s to install so I'll have more room for storage. and keep my bowling balls safe when traveling.

Go Drive both, I did multiple times. and I didn't see that big of a difference in power. I kinda liked the ability to break loose the tires on my non hybrid more easily, idk was just more fun. Being said though if that Hybrid was my same MGM color, I would have got it in a heartbeat.

I paid for the capstone pricing but got the limited package deal, no running boards no rear bed step. I had a 2019 Tuscan still under warranty with 31k miles. They didn't even drive the car or look under the hood before they gave me a $16,000 equity credit. The bottom line price on the truck was $68,000. After my $16,000 trade in credit I ended up paying $67,000 cash, i bought it outright! $67,000+$16,000=$83,000 total price of 2023 tundra limited hybrid went from $68,000 to $83,000 somehow and anyone knows the taxes added to $68,000 doesn't equal $83,000! So what happened Toyota of Orange California? I was tricked and the finance guy used his stylus to draw circles to distract and mislead me from what I was signing on the touchscreen desk, which is like over 2feet wide and like 3feet long, why I figured out after he gave me my paperwork in an envelope that he licked and sealed closed himself so I couldn't take a look and see that I was tricked into giving away my 2019 tuscon. The next day I went back to have them get right and I said I wanted to pay for the tundra outright cash, $67,000 was pretty much buying the truck anyway so why wouldn't I do that instead? But it was late in the evening, and there was a manager on duty who was sure to duck and dodge me every chance he got, and the ones who stood to profit from the transaction disregarded my wish to just buy the truck outright, no trade in of my 2019 tuscon. Instead the guy reprinted the contract and tried to get me to re-sign the new proposed paperwork still not listening to me about my wanting to just pay for the truck outright no trade in. They just kept saying I was so happy to get that truck and there is a long time waiting list to get that rare vehicle. So I just kept the new contract the tried to get me to sign and left with it. The 2nd paperwork work contract printout was just as dirty as the 1st, they magically backed into the $67,000 cashiers check I got from chase to buy the vehicle outright, no trade in, and still I got ripped off for my 2019 tuscon that they listed for sale for $25,000 plus, the blue book value. They burned me real good and my question here is does anyone have a similar experience or mistake that they wish they could t are back or take them to court to get back what is rightfully theirs?

Nope... never worked for a car dealer. Bought a few cars in CA though, and I read signs on the wall in the F&I offices, as well as what's on contracts before signing them.

Well contract or not, price gouging is illegal, and the governor had issued california in a state of emergency during those nasty wildfires we were experiencing and during issued state of emergencies, price hiking is a no-no!

Lol well good luck with that. Sounds like you need a lawyer, not a truck forum.

https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/car-buyers-bill-of-rights-ffvr-35/#:~:text=Used Car Buyers&text=There is no “cooling off,a contract cancellation option agreement.

Start here with the CA DMV. "Bill of Rights" - note that the 2 day right of rescission only applies to used cars under $40k and needs to be in the contract. Doesn't apply to new cars. It also says that you'd need to take your issue up with an attorney for other matters like suspected fraud.

You signed the papers, you own it. Good luck!

What does the contract you signed say? There has to be an explanation in there as to what they charged you for what and what they credited you for what. You signed it, you gotta know what’s in it. How did they get a check from Chase for an amount you hadn’t agreed upon? This whole story is perplexing.

that is insane if they actually did that, making there vehicle more to absorb the price of your trade in is wrong. You should have caught it on signing the paperwork. Not sure if there is a cooling off period in your state?
