How does the 4wd drive work compared to old tacoma?

    I haven't had my 2019 SR5 tundra long but i came from a 1997 tacoma 4x4. When in 4wd you could not turn very sharp and you new you where locked into 4wd.

    I think it's the part time 4wd that confuses me on the tundra.

    When in 4HI on the tundra are the front wheels locked in or do they only engaged when the truck feels front wheel spin?
