If i were to get a new plastic bedliner, flip it & skin it to make a camper, and brace each side vertically to minimize sidewards wobble...?

i guess anyone seen this done? Could skin the inside and outside and fill with foam between for insulation? Or cut windows. It could probably be kept pretty light, i think i'd like a big single door on the back with a handle latch mounted to a rear bumper swing out tire carrier.

    3F4F436F-B611-49CA-ADBF-4A29D5AC28A6.jpg

transformer mode would be a bonus. I've got a few friends that skinned redbull race planes, might get some helpful tips for keeping everything smooth.

I should have bought coated rotors this last time. This is after driving in salt/brine one time.

My last set of Raybestos rotors from 2020 were coated and never did this. Lesson learned.

In @empty_lord's defense, in his position and with his connections, he comes across opportunities that you're not going to find scrolling thru craylist. And I understand the struggle of turnin down a screamin good deal.

I've seen this truck up close in person. They are MB sprinter wheels and an otherwise stock rear axle. Had some drop shackles, it's cool but could be a lot cooler.

That bedside fender action is god-awful though. Who thought that was gonna sell the design. Barf. Rear LT glass with bushwackers added would have been better than that 90’s testarossa monstrosity.

I wrote 05 by mistake, meant 95, that’s got the look I like best I think. Something about the grille on the ‘01-‘04 first Gen Tacos never sat right for me.

The thing about good deals is you need to sell to make it work in your favor :)

The red Tacoma and the blue Tacoma will net me profits that make the other 3 free basically.

mr2 and the 95,98 tacos are on classic insurance. Dirt cheap. Avalons the daily. That means these don’t get driven much so they can be.

This thing will be effectively. Body’s trashed. I’ll cut the fenders and everything to try and fit 37s and might try my hand at my own LT kit. My buddies got CAD files to a kit that never released..

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY @FrenchToasty

'98 becomes emissions-exempt here in GA this year. I'd still love to find a rust-free manual 4cyl 2WD with power windows, locks, steering.

My 98 being supercharged and stupid low miles is great. It lacks the rust free part though… just waiting on a clutch and filler neck to do its frame swap. Then it’s done for the year. Body repairs (bumper is damaged and bedside got hit) plus some hail damage will get fixed next year.

I assume you have a dealers license to buy/sell these or do you keep under the yearly ‘limit’?

They actually don't look bad from the rear. It's just those louvered vents that uglify the things
Fun fact (i just learned) 'uglify' is a word. Totally expected to see that spellcheck-highlighted as I typed it.
Is the '98 the red one? I watched the walk-around video on that. Super clean inside and out, just not underneath eh?

The 98 is the black one. The red one is a 2002. The 2002 will be for sale once it’s all fixed up

While I do love the thinking, that's now how most investors would phrase it. You buy to make a return, not to acquire additional assets of value and sit on them.

It's tough though, b/c I think both you and I really do have an irrational passion for these trucks and it's a source of joy to own them. Sort of like mixing business and pleasure. It can be tough to draw a line of what is purely to sell vs what is for the joy of ownership and only sold if the price exceeds a specific number.

Anyway, may we continue our race to overinvestment in Toyota pickups!

The 02 originally was purchased for 1450 as seen (minus the wheels, but I had those laying around) and was going to be my “adventure” truck. Aka drive to Colorado and what not. But the 1995 popped up with no rust just damage and has taken that roll. So the 02 is no longer “needed” the 98 I bought because I want a “Time Machine” fuckers like it was when it was new. Just a bit weathered.

IF I need to sell something the wrecked 01 taco is first on the list followed by the corolla… then the avalon…. If I have to sell all those I can comfortably daily the 95. Past that then… well I have ALOT of audio equipment I could offload that’s worth more than some of the trucks were bought for.

The 07 was the only taco purchased to be a flip from the start
