My 22 TRD Pro has been great so far just a few minor issues
The remote start kill feature is one
The other is the turning radius is horrible

I absolutely agree with the turning radius. I love this truck, but it makes my 2019 TRD Pro seem nimble by comparison.

I heard about the turning radius being bad but it’s better than my 22 gmc Sierra by a little bit . Which my numbers make no sense since the gmc is rated better .

There are two different turning diameters on the tundra. The TRD pro and everything else. The TRD pro is really bad. I had a 22 pro and now a 23 platinum and it’s a lot easier than the small number on paper leads you to believe

I have the 23 platinum as well . I was leaning towards a pro on the future but maybe I’ll get a hybrid platinum instead . Fits me better anyway

That doesn't make sense. Turning radius should be determined by the geometry of the front suspension and wheelbase. Toyota USA website lists the TRD Pro turning diameter as 49.8 feet, with a crewmax 5.5 bed. the SR5 crewmax 5.5 bed has a turning diameter of 48.6 feet. The crewmax 6.5 bed is listed at 50.0 feet. I haven't even looked at the 8 foot bed. I don't know how it's arranged, and whether it's only available with double cab or what, and I don't really care - the point being, it could be at least 0.2 feet worse XD
It would seem, though, that the different suspension of the TRD Pro affects the geometry.

I have a cm 6.5 bed, and I knew it wouldn't be as "nimble" as my 4Runner. In daily driving, I don't feel hindered at all.

Actually that does make sense now. The TRD Pro has a stock tire size of 285/65R18, whereas the limited has a tire size of 265/60R/20. That works out to 0.8" wider tire. And now that I just put on 285/65R18 tires on my limited, I probably made the turning radius even worse.

It was motortrend or someone that said it was the steering knuckles on the pro increased the diameter

I’m sure it’s the steering limiters. I remember when I lifted a buddies 2016 Tundra with the Rough Country 4” lift. It came with steering limiters that bolted on. It significantly reduced steering diameter. Removed them, and he never had an issue.

I’m pretty sure the engineers designed everything for good reason, but I wonder if the knuckles or the lower control arm could be “clearanced” or something along those lines to gain a little more turning radius. I haven’t looked at it myself.

My first truck/vehicle was an '81 F-150 with a manual steering gear box (non-hydraulically assisted). Side note: I'm only in my 40's but it was a farm truck that my grandfather loaned me while I saved up for my first truck. Didn't want to imply that I'm 65 or something. haha. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Having driven trucks the bulk of my life...does anyone expect a truck to have a decent turning radius? Legit question. I see people complaining about it, but its not something that I've ever noticed or even judged on any truck that I've owned. The "longest" truck I've ever owned was a 2007 F-150 SuperCrew (4 door) with the 6.5' bed. The length of that truck and my 2022 Tundra Double Cab are nearly the same (235.8" vs 233.6" according to Edmunds). So maybe I'm just used to having a bad turning radius by now. haha. :notsure:

Is there a full size truck that you would define as having a great/tight turning radius?

My 1500 ram truck had much tighter turning radius than Tundra... I could actually maneuver around the garage pretty easily with my ram, but Tundra it feels like I'm driving a 3/4 ton truck. Oh well...
