My AFE brackets are maxed out. I might go higher but it's ok for now.

What do you mean by the rear neutral arms? Are there more than one set of air suspension sensor arms?

Yes AFE and westcott make some. There is a slot on the stock arms that aren't maxed out as well. The age and westcott's will get you more lift though.

They came like that. It’s a Platinum, so all the trim is black. Door handles, top of tailgate, bumper caps. I don’t think it is the same Black Metallic Paint that is on the body, but it is the reason I bought a black platinum, because the trim appears to match the truck.

Did anyone try to remove the spacers and saw 3/4 of an inch off them on the frame side and re-install them so the truck has zero rake ?? Would eliminate the bump stock while leaving the truck in a neutral setting ?

I would be afraid of damaging the air spring. I assume that bump stop is the size it is for a reason, but just an assumption.

I saw my same truck running down the highway yesterday and the rear end looked like it was sagging. These trucks are not set up right from the factory. I maxed my factory arms and still hit the bumps a half dozen times a week.

Ordered the AFE arms and will install them this weekend. Every truck I can think of my whole life growing up has a little bit of rake. I agree I don't want an overly raked truck, but what I saw yesterday confirms these things are sagging...

I'll post an update and some pictures after I install the AFE arms.

Hi all - posted this in the Suspension Lift Mega Thread but figured it may be a better convo for this thread: As I’ve been looking for Quality Air-ride leveling with AVS lift out there… it’s been challenging (as we all know)

Some understand - some are confused (understandably). Air-ride leveling suspension does not necessarily mean you have AVS… so searching through this forum can be tough trying to figure out what really works and what doesn’t with AVS controls.

I’m really just trying to get all of our options layed-out. Here is what I ‘think’ is correct for those of us with AVS and want a lift (help from those in the know would be great):

    1. Westcott lift (specific to AVS/air) works
    2. Front level pucks with an open top for the AVS sensors (RC 1.75, etc) works
    3. Current kits specific to AVS (Readylift SST lift kit for AVS air-ride) works
    4. AFE Rear Air Control Arms (being used to help in many cases to help in the rear) works

I know some are just unplugging the AVS sensors in the front all together … so I get that opens up options too…

Can anyone else add to this? Higher-end suspension updates for the AVS? I’d prefer a better solution like Icon stage 1 or even RC M1s. I actually spoke with Icon two days ago and they still in DEV (but working) on a Tundra AVS solution-so those of us looking for compatible shocks/strut/suspension lifts may need to wait a little longer.

If anyone has any other thoughts/additions out there-love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance everyone. Cheers.

You can unplug the avs without throwing an error code. I have the TRD kit on my 1794 - no issues with avs. It took some extra parts because some of the spring/shock mounts are different and I needed airbag arms.

Correct:) the AVS unplug can be done with no error code. So you’re saying the the TRD lift was fine as long as you are good with NO functioning AVS and additional parts for the rear air since the TRD lift is designed for the non-air suspensions? Dealer installed?

Correct AVS no longer functions. I never noticed much difference anyway. Correct you need the AFE or Westcott arms for the airbags. You also need some different sprint/shock mounts from the SR5 grade based on the difference in mount threads. Yes the dealer installed all of it except the AFE arms. I did that. I have a longer post on it if you search me.

Yeah it made a big difference. Cruising on a smooth road I couldn't tell much difference of course, but anything other than that it really helped soften the bumps.

My truck gets its out of Province inspection Monday ( this a Canadian thing where the government screws money out of you. Brand-new truck needs an inspection for insurance because it came from a dealership in Canada other than where you reside.....total cash grab) After I pass that I will be underneath adjusting. I have read 38 1/4 inches from ground to inside of wheel well is prefered. Could you when you have a second measure yours please ?? I plan to start adjusting Tuesday

Hi all AVS Rear Air and Regular Rear Air peeps — Thought you'd all be interested to see this. Here is a comparison of the AFE Rear Air Arms and the ones included in the Westcott Lift kit. They are all set at the same attachment angle. You'll notice they accomplish the lift in different ways but both have 'almost' the same travel to lift the back... though I think AFE has it by just a few centimeters (on the arm)... both are also similar thickness of metal. Anyway... its an interesting comparison:

I did mine today. Original was from ground to middle of wheel well 38.25 on driver side and 37 on passenger. Truck now at 38 even. Over all hitch to ground went up 1". Personally I thought it rode rougher in town and floaty on the highway, but I honestly think I am just paying too much attention to it.

To the person that discovered this and shared it, my heartfelt thanks

Do I need to discount the sensor first then make the arm adjustments and then reconnect the sensor or just leave the sensor alone and just adjust the arm as needed ? Thanks.

Unless you're changing arms, you will only loosen the nut on the slot side.

    Hi all -
Heres a few shot of the Westcott AVS/Air Lift kit and a few findings. This is a 2023 Platinum Magnetic Gray Metallic sitting on Method 305 NV Double Black (18x9, +18mm Offset, 6x5.5, 108 Centerbore) wrapped in Toyo Open Country AT3s 35/12.5/18 D. Here are a few things to note that many have asked:

    - Yes, the front lift is 'about' 2 inches and not 3
    - Yes, you can set it up a rake (mine has about an inch) by adjusting the rear air control arms for height
    - Yes, 35 inch tires with wheels that have +18 offset will easily clear with zero rubbing (as along as the front liner is pinned back)
    - Yes, AVS controls still work
    - Yes, rear air controls will still cycle through H-M-L just fine

I understand that stance, wheel choice and ride-quality are ALL based on opinion/preference but here is my two cents. In my opinion (and one that drove a 2012 Tacoma for 11 years) the ride quality isn't 'crazy' different than stock. Yes, it is slightly stiffer like most lifts end up being... but nothing that makes me second guess putting the lift on.

Adjusted 5 minutes ago on the 2023 platinum after following the TSB, will work a little more on it tomorrow since the passenger side fender is about 1/4" higher, want to drive it a little first.

Does anyone know why the TSB states NOT to exceed 45mm axle to bump stop?

Probably not to over extend the shocks in the up position.

Drive it around a few days. I noticed mine settled a bit after initial adjustment. Seemed like every drive I would within 1/4 inch of where I started and the passenger side is always the high one

Thank you, great idea, I am planning on checking it out today when I get home, the ride was much better this morning. I had the drivers at 44-45 yesterday and 47-49 on the passenger, I did adjust down a little since it was recommended not to go past 45mm. Will measure when I get back home.

that’s what I did measure, drive, measure, drive. Finally I just said fuckit, 1/4 inch close enough. I will say that I was only trying to gain an extra inch on the bump stops as my truck was squatting in the rear.
