I grabbed a set of 4 from Amazon for less than the dealer wanted for one when I needed some. The one I bought isn't listed anymore but there's a few others.

Haven't done much to the truck lately. Pretty much where I want it for the time being. Got 5100s installed while I had some time off.
Stock 4600's didn't put up too much of a fight.
    20221228_172812.jpg
Driver side just needed vice grips on the shock shaft.
    20221228_172808.jpg
Passenger side needed vice grips on the shaft as well as on the top of the shaft above where the nut threads on. Not too bad although they were off a year and a half ago during frame replacement. If I wasn't already spending so much during frame swap I could have gotten all this done but at that point I was really just trying to get the truck squared away without spending every cent I had.

(This is where I'd put an after picture if I had taken one.)

Old shocks still had a decent bit of pressure in them. Didn't notice a huge difference in ride quality but haven't put on many miles yet. 5100s didn't seem too stiff yet but time will tell.

Only other news is dash cam acting up. Keeps boot looping most the time for some reason then will just start recording like normal. It's on my list of things to do.

Yeah, they've been in every Toyota mirror retrofit pack I've bought so far. Always red ones. I get it. But I've been seeing stuff like this my whole life, it's frustrating.

What brand? I'd start with the simple stuff: Eject and reinsert flash memory. Firmware update the device.

Speaking of firmware updates, @FirstGenVol did updating your Alpine resolve any of your issues?

    2-month loop-back on this.

Still seeing same positive throttle response out of my truck, this is after putting several hundred miles on it. It's not as punchy as it was the first couple of startups after cleaning the MAF, but it's still clear when I need to jump on the gas, there's no hesitation, it kicks. I'm still surprised to see such a behavior change. I would've expected something like this after cleaning my TB, which had almost no effect.

Yes it solved my issues but I created a new one. I used to have a USB type C coming directly out of the head unit for charging my phone and for Android Auto. This time I ran the USB to the glove box. Now it won't let me use Android Auto with a cable running to the charger near the floor. I may have to pull the head unit back out if I want to use Android Auto.

Aside from that, my call quality is a lot better now.

Wait - was the new AA problem caused by cabling changes you made, or did it seem to appear due to the firmware upgrade?

I know this is archaic not using CarPlay or AA, but I stream everything over bluetooth to the radio. It auto-connects, works consistently, and I rarely ever need to touch my phone or the head unit.

Correct. It was my fault. I had assumed I could still use AA by using a charging port near the floor but it doesn't work. Not a big deal. Like you said, I still have Bluetooth. I just liked using my head unit to navigate.

Making some progress on the rock sliders. Picked them up from the shop today. They did the fitting and welded the posts and brackets on. Then I'm going to get them coated and bring them back for final welding. Lot of effort, but should we worth the investment, I hope.

towed another load of slabs today, this time with the WD hitch. Makes a big difference. I'm more than willing to make this a regular trip with this truck.

Fml. Went and got some double sided foam tape, and my big orange doofus effed it up.

theres enough intact bits i can do what i need to do, but someones 'fair share' of tomorrows steak is going to be a little thin. He took it off the bar, skipped the bread and dog & cat food containers, and hid while he chewed on it.

oh, the gorilla mounting tape is good to 265*f

    Ok I’ll bite:
Is big orange doofus your dog or child?
Is that a toilet floor flange?
Is that some sort of ceiling box/vent/contraption?
What the hell is it and what needs to be done and please tell me what’s going on here?
    That is all

The last thing he chewed on, that he knows better than to chew on was one of my foam sandals a couple months ago. But i havent found a rope or a ball that'll last him more than a few hours.

Your pup sounds like mine. Our neighbor's pup is even worse. The only thing we've found neither one of them can destroy but freaking love to chew on is water buffalo horns. But not all of them are created equal. Some of them are thin-walled, brand is important, but even sometimes you just get unlucky and don't get one with a thick wall. The thickest-walled ones we could find came from a specific brand, and neither dog has managed to chew thru after months. I can get the brand for you if you're interested, I gotta dig up receipts.

Our dog can kill an antler in hours or days, depending how long it is.

If you want to give it a shot, the brand is either QT Dog or Raw Paws. We bought them on scAmazon. I can't figure out which is which, we haven't had to re-up yet, and she still has two horns.
