I've got the ragged part smoothed and the shape decent. Still working on bringing the edge back. This is a 10 minutes every few days kind of project. With the recent cold I've only spent time in the shed to top off my cigarette supply. It's going to warm up this weekend, so I'll be putting some more strokes on the whetstones.

I’m having a difficult time with getting pictures to load but here’s the knife 9C044A8F-CF1D-4FDB-87A8-2875BC9338CC.jpgFF504DD8-0764-4117-9757-DE1102D00DB0.jpg
The picture of the spine won’t load so I can’t display the file work or the liners, but I used white and blue g-10 liners to create a muted red, white and blue motif in honor of the clients service in the first gulf war.

Ray @gosolo what kind of knife would you not want a full tang?

I gave my buddy the Half Face Blade. He loves it. Dang it, I want one now, too. This year, he gave me this sweet LT Wright Next Gen in A2. It is a substantial, great feeling, and *perfectly* balanced knife. 1/8” A2! Looking forward to wet-fitting the sheath.

And here’s another pic of this amazing RTK Skinner. Hoping to harvest one last late-season doe if I can find the time. I’ll put this blade to use!

I've got it really close. I couldn't get the point back and there's a couple of small nicks on the edge. I'm not sure that I can work those out without starting over. For what it is, a 40 year old knife that I forgot I had, I'm gonna call it good. I might do a few more passes on an Arkansas hard stone.

It’s a world of improvement over what you started with! At least it looks like a knife again and not a spatula, lol

HA! It sliced through, not tore, some packing tape so I think it's good for a handy shed knife.

That’s a neat idea but I would not want to be dragging my knife edge across the brass pin every time I go to use it. Not a problem for a fixed blade knife.
I need to work on my sheaths to develop a horizontal position. I know halfface has a sheath that can be used in either horizontal or vertical and I might copy that.

He says there’s a nylon something or other that the blade runs against so it’s not supposed to damage it. No idea how that’s possible.

Beautiful sight! Let me know how you feel about the edge when you’re done. I actually put that knife through the paces on about 20 rabbits and it was still sharp enough to shave.
