Looked like permanent barriers to me. I should have taken pictures of it... I was east going west bound.

Still planning on a Blair Valley trip on Sat 1/21. Called the visitor’s center the other day and they said it will probably be in the low 40s, possibly breaking in to the high 30s but not likely. I asked if it ever gets in to the 20s and she said that freezing temperatures are a very rare occasion for anywhere in the park.

Open to other locations but I’ve read that BV is the best spot in the park for stargazing.

Who wants to buy a bad ass truck? It’s your chance on fully built and caged truck built by SS built. LSK race kit

Blair Valley and other stuff off the S2 will probably be your best bet for the least amount of light pollution. Culp Valley is a nice area too.

In the lower elevations of the park near Borrego Springs it's still nice and you'll see plenty of stars, but you can easily see light pollution way off in the horizon from Salton City, Brawley, and El Centro.

Some parts along the S2 and even deep in Fish Creek you'll see the flashing red lights on top of the windmills down by the 8 though, so keep that in mind.

thanks! culp valley is cool but climb to the top of the hill behind the campground and you can see the 10, palm springs, JT. way too much light up there.

Ah, I've never stayed at the actual Culp Valley campground. I'm thinking Old Culp Valley south of there and the S22, but Blair Valley would still be a better call.

It’s broken. If I can’t find one here I will just buy one. I just know a lot of folks don’t like the chrome so maybe someone has something sitting in their garage I could buy.

How much just for bumper shins? Tie rods? And shackles? No bumper or spacers for shocks.

Yo folks!! I don’t post in this thread often, but I wanted to invite you local folks. I hope it’s ok to post this invite here.

We’re putting a crew together for a Pismo trip. They keep threatening to close the dunes, so we’re getting out there as much as possible.

The day is Feb 25th at 7am. We’re staying in town Friday night, then showing up early to grab a spot for basecamp cookouts on the sand. Bring enough food for the entire day, and your recovery gear. Get in line at the entrance around 6:30. Bring your GRMS radio, we’ll be on channel 17, and 416.600. We’ll try to grab a spot just past the Ranger station to the North in front of the bathrooms.

So far the group number is up to 16 Tundras, plus a few Tacomas and 4Runners.

Don’t hesitate to message me if you have questions about the terrain, schedule, food to bring, or whatever. Let’s go!!!

I will say you either love it or hate it. Better than Glamis, as in not as many drunk idiots on SXS, ya got a beach nobody swims in, and a ton of sand to play around. It’s a blast. Good folks going too.
