    Need some help. So hear the back story. My SR5 came stock with the steel wheels. A few months back I picked up a set of off-road wheels. I swapped the tires from the steel wheels to the off-road wheels. The steel wheel tire size was 255 65 r 18. I did this until I was ready for new tires. This was done at discount tire. When the did this they broke two TPMS sensors because they said they were different than the ones made for the off-road wheels so they replaced them for free. No biggie. Everything worked fine. I wanted the oem tire size for the off road wheels which is 275 65 r 18. So I had them put on a few days ago. When I left the tpms we’re working fine. A day after it said my tpms failed. So I took it back to discount and they replaced the one failed. The light is still on and says please wait while it recalibrates. Now i still have the tpms light on and still the recalibrate on the dash. Discount showed me with their meter that all the tpms were working it was showing the psi on all 4 tires. It’s just not registering with the truck for some reason. they told me to drive around for a day or too to let it recalibrate which I have. Still showing error message.

    I’ve also disconnected the battery for a while to see if that would reset.

    so first...the TPMS on the steel wheels aren't compatible to fit alloy wheels and all. so thats about right.
    secondly....when i had my 2017 SR5, i bought aftermarket wheels and tires. i had discount tire reset my TPMS within the tires. after i drove on them on the way home about 75 miles away, the light never shut off. after i had stopped at a store then got back in, i had pushed the TPMS light underneath the steering wheel. about 1-2 miles later it turned off the light.

    so i'm not sure if you've looked into resetting the TPMS with the button underneath the steering wheel or not

    Disconnect the TPMS. Monitor tire pressure like your Dad did. And his Dad did.

    Read the TPMS registration/reset processes in your owner manual. Do both. I had to do it about 5 times over the course of the first few months after getting new wheels on my Tundra. Then it stabilized and worked.

    Ask if they clear the TPMS code first with the TPMS scanner and then drive around. I recently did this on my Camry to clear the TPMS light on the dash.

    That procedure sucks the way it is written. I rotated my tires months ago and still can't get the pressures to display.

    Little confused. The 2018 allows the reset procedure while driving? My 2016 states that the engine must be off during the reset procedure. When I bought my steels they has 2018 sensors so I had to swap them out. Discount did it and they were working by the end of the parking lot. The sensors they used report as TRW with my TPMS scanner.

    Stop lights turned truck off. Pressed the reset restarted.

    @Tundra234 and @Npowers66

    Hey guys, have been following your threads. Sounds similar to my issue. Would one or either of you mind posting the step-by-step for this again? I wasn't clear if I had to take it in and have the ECU reset or if you were able to do this while the light (and error message) were displaying.

    Sorry if this is repetitive. Looking for any help I can get and your situations seem identical. Also, just to verify, did you both go from SR5 steel to aftermarket alloy?

    Thanks in advance!

    Yes I went from steel to alloy. The truck programs and calibrated the sensors.....no need for a dealership visit. I replied to the other post.

    Steel to alloy for me. Keep doing the reset procedure with the TPMS button on the dash. I did it multiple times driving, not driving , stop lights etc. eventually it worked.

    So, say a fella wants to add a 5th TPMS sensor in the spare, and start doing 5-tire rotations.
    Can I simply press the button 3 times after rotating tires and it should start reading the four that are now mounted up and spinning?
