Thanks for posting those pics. That's the wheel size I'm considering and it's good to see pics before hand.

Since I’m new I thought I’d throw in a pic of my truck. I added 275/60/20 Cooper AT3 4S tires right after I got it a few weeks ago. [/QUOTE]

Ok you got me curious... as my future ride will look similar but a 1794 (different color rims)
(hope I am not being too nosey)

Why did you get rid of the original tires? Went one size up from 265/60 r20 to 275/60 r20

Whats the largest we can go on factory rims? 285?? (i'll search that one)

Sold the old tires or hung onto them? (wondering if I go up myself what to do with the old tires)

275/60/20 Wildpeaks in load range “D” for towing duties & better than factory Geolanders in northeast winters. The “D” load tires were much cheaper that the “E” rated ones and a little lighter. 8 ply vs 10 ply figured the 8 ply was a happy medium for my needs.

    hey thanks,

that looks exactly what I would like, a little bigger and nicer looking than stock but still P-rated and not much heavier at all than the stock set-up

just that little bigger size looks much more balanced, Im also color matching the flares so that should help even more

    thanks

has anyone found OEM black lug nuts yet?

Here are a few more of the 275/65-20 Toyo AT3’s on the factory TRD rims. Fills up the fender wells nicely with absolutely no rub at full lock. No other modifications were necessary. Truck accessory dealer here told me with a 1.75” leveling kit that I could go to 295’s max without additional modifications. I thought 34” was a good place to be versus the 32.5” factory look. I’ve received numerous compliments on the look and the aggressive tread of the AT3. I thought an MT had been installed on my first impression.

I traded my 2020 1794 for this one less than a week ago. Totally different feel than the prior generation. Not a perfect truck, but quality-wise beats GM and Ford. I cannot attest to any other brand as I have never owned a truck outside of those manufacturers. $7,000+ cost savings (advantage) over a similarly equipped F-150 King Ranch and no chips/options are missing. The hybrid motor takes a little getting used to but the power plant moves you through all 10 gears nicely. Speedometer overstated speed by ~ 2 MPH right off the lot and on a 200 mile interstate drive home. That was consistent to my 2020 with OEM sized tires the entire time I owned it. I haven’t checked the accuracy since the tires were put on two days ago.

The stock tires look small with a street oriented tread. I assume going for best fuel mileage. Discount Tire only offered me $30 a tire for the originals so I decided to keep them and give to a coworker.

Is the Toyo AT3 in 35x12.5/18 the only 34''-35'' AT tire found in C or D load? Trying to keep weight down as E load is wayy overkill. TIA

A metric shit ton and I’m bored so….

    27.8x4= 111.3, 80x4= 320 431.3

stock wheels 28.7x4= 114.8, tires guessing a few lbs more than regular stock TRD off-road falken tires 40x4=160, 274.8

156.5 lbs difference…. Ouch, that’s roughly 40lbs more per corner than stock, or essentially adding an extra tire to each wheel.

I want 37’s bad, but man does the math not add up for weight, MPG, wear and tear, etc

Yea, folks don’t pay attention to this stuff. When I built my truck I wanted the lightest set up that wouldn’t fail me off-road. I already had the 35x12.5x17 Toyo at3’s off my last truck so I bought the lightest non TE37’s I could find- blackthorn bh01’s. Stats below
stock black forged TRD OR 20’s with falken tires
Stock tires 38lbs- new 65- 27 lbs difference
    Stock Wheels 37lbs- new 21.5- 15.5

    11.5 lbs more per corner

Got these today. 295/60R20 Toyo AT3 on Flow formed 20” x 8.5” ET +15. I was hoping for less poke but nothing that the TRD Pro flares can’t fix!

Going to remove the mud flaps and put an RC 1.75” lift in the front. There is some rubbing of the flaps and a slight touch of the front liner felt.

How much clearance do you have between the wheel and calipers running 17" wheels? I have a 22 Tacoma with those exact wheels in black and I'm thinking about keeping them for my tundra that's on order...

How many ounces of weight do you guys consider acceptable to balance AT tires? Does the higher weight indicate a need to rebalance more frequently?

In my experience...if you need alot of weight to balance a tire/wheel that tire/wheel was manufactured like shit...

Has anyone leveled/lifted an SR5 and kept stock rims? I can’t seem to find any photos of one. Trying to decide if I keep them and add some 285/75/18’s or purchase some limited takeoffs and go to 295/65/20. If the sr5 18’s look good I’d like to just keep them to save money

It'll look good bud. Especially if you fill the wheel well up alittle more with the bigger tire.

Howdy. Does anyone have Cooper Discoverer S-T Maxx on their Tundra? I ran Pizza cutters (255/85R16) on my Tacoma and really love the tire, but haven’t seen them on a tundra yet.. anyone? Bueller?
Here’s the sizes they offer for R20, if you’re curious.. AA10AA28-5AB4-4B88-BD68-AFCFFD8E26D7.jpg7DBE0206-37B4-47FA-8DDD-8C3F2C69FE43.jpg

Looks great! Any rubbing? I have a similar setup and the rubbing is there near full lock, I am waiting to do a RC lift as a short term solution until I can decide on a coilover system.
