Tundra in October had a miss and took it to garage and they said it was the coil pack. They replaced the spark plugs and coil pack. 2 weeks ago same miss and check engine light flashing and took it by garage and they said it’s the coil pack again and replaced it only charging 60 bucks. This morning same miss and flashing check engine light. Any idea what may be the issue?

I replied in the other thread, but use Denso coil packs.

And DO NOT buy the parts on scAmazon, it's full of counterfeits. Same with fleaBay. They have no way to get in trouble for counterfeit product, and regularly ship out fake shit. There's tons of evidence of this all over the internet.

Thanks guys. I’m checking on if they replaced all the coil packs and brand they used.

It's really easy to swap a coil pack also, just to see if the misfire follows, which would prove it's the coil that's the problem. Any big auto parts store will scan you for free and print out the list of codes logged in the ECU.

That said, you can swap the coil pack misfiring with another coil pack, to see if the misfire follows it. The ECU has a unique code it sets for EACH cylinder. Usually the last digit of the code indicates the cylinder, like P0307 would be a misfire cylinder 7, P0303 would be a misfire on cylinder 3. The cylinders on the V8 start with #1 being closest to the driver headlight, #2 closest to passenger headlight, # 7 closest to the driver firewall, # 8 closest to the passenger firewall. 1-3-5-7 on the driver's side, 2-4-6-8 on the passenger.

Sometimes stupid shit can happen, like the spring in the coil pack can get stuck on the plug when pulling the old and reinstalling the new - two springs on one plug could cause weird misfire conditions. So could the wrong plugs, or shit plugs, or fake plugs as others who purchased counterfeits on scAmazon have found.
