I’m trying to get my TRD OEM lift kit done this month and TRD skid plate, but starting to think about the new year coming and other items I want to get done.

I feel pretty locked in on the Covert Bumper by CBI. Would probably do front first and then the back later in the year.

It is great to have tow hooks and winch. Also like that they did the mount for a 20” light bar.

Curious if anyone has installed yet? I’ve seen a few videos on YouTube, but enjoy the conversations here. Also any opinions on the version with and without the bar. I was wondering if you can modify the parking sensors to account for the extra length.

Any other ones to consider alternatively?

    thanks all.

Curious too. And I live in Phoenix, so wondering if I can just buy it and install myself, or if it's smarter to take it to someone like Wescott and have them install.

I messaged with CBI a few weeks ago. They told me that some Toyota dealers will do their bumper installs. I live in Seattle and he mentioned that one of the dealers near me will do them, but not the others.

Maybe they build select dealer relationships? Totally speculative

Just curious but can the CBI be installed on a 1794? I believe this has the air dam

I installed a Southern Style OffRoad “covert bumper” on my Tacoma and had to cut WAY more than the CBI bumper for the Tundra. I plan to install mine again, it’s pretty straightforward.

For the 1794 and my Limited it requires the dynamic air dam delete. You just remove it and CBI has a module to plug in that keeps any error messages from popping up. Or you can move the motor somewhere else to let it cycle to prevent error messages

Hmmm…this has me intrigued (and if I was a betting man I would say it’s Michael’s Toyota in Bellevue as they have similar relationship with Wescott, etc)

I will give Michaels a call this week as I am also interested this CBI covert bumper…don’t really want to head over the passes this time of the year without ‘some piece of mind’ should I get stuck.

If Michaels doesn’t work (for those west of the cascades ) there is this spot in Kirkland that will probably do it

Looks like they do a whole lot of stuff here if you checkout their main menu

100% correct - It was Michael’s that CBI mentioned to me.

I have a 2.5 gen Covert I'm about to list, along with a Warn EVO 10s winch if anyone is interested. Located in Issaquah for your PNW guys, only 10 minutes from Michaels!

The motor for the air dam (automatic spoiler) looks to be in the exact spot the winch would go. My guess is you would have to remove it and bypass it to run that bumper. My guess is the rough country one is in the same boat but I have not found anyone that has installed one.

The air dam has to be removed. I was able to add the bumper myself and as soon as CBI released the air dam delete module, it's plug and play - no more error message. Install is not overly difficult. There is some cutting involved but you can follow factory lines pretty close.

Happy to answer questions since I didn't use any shop to install. Can give you the things to look out for if doing it yourself, etc.

Can definitely install yourself if you have a little elbow grease and a friend

So I'm in Tacoma - what's your price? I have a 2016 Tundra I think this would fit. Does it have the bull bar or not?

anyone have the RCI Pike bumper instead of the covert? They look pretty similar, the RCI can have some 6" led installed but looks like no place for front license, covert has the grille bar, otherwise pretty much the same it looks like?
