All the truck forums are littered with problems. If you read them you would never buy any of the trucks. Mass production particularly during COVID supply chain period is never 100 percent quality.

You have to bake in how the OEM and dealer will support you with if an issue occurs. If you buy from El Cheapo Motors to save a grand on a $65k truck instead of the local dealer in business for 50 years whose service manager lives in your neighborhood or goes to your Church don't complain when they ghost you.

Took delivery of our 1794 today. Only 35 miles on it so far, not a lot I understand. Initial impression: WOW, super nice. No rattles noticed, no wind noise, didn't get high enough in speed for mirror whistling or maybe it doesn't whistle. So far I find the technology quite impressive but still have a bunch to learn. I'll report back after a few more days and maybe a few hundred miles.
Oh, I should say that the front corner bumper plastic on one side got hit during transport and is damaged. Dealer pointed that out and a replacement part is on order.

    First impressions on my 2023:
-quieter, feels more planted on the road, and this leads it to feeling safer on the road as well
-interior and creature comforts are a quantum leap over my 2019
-The only thing I really miss is the trd dual exhaust with v8 on the old truck but as I drive the new one more it feels more ‘luxurious’ inside (for lack of a better word) so I am starting to enjoy the quieter cabin and the stereo sounds better too

Overall I am super happy with the new truck and just installed a lift and that was a big leap in how the new one looks and feels

New member, longtime Toyota owner following this thread.

Late November went from a 2019 SR5 4x4 to 2023 SR5 4x4 because they gave me a ton for the 2019 and the price of the 2023 was reasonable. The 2023 has a TSS "off road" package (only useful perk seems to be the 20" TRD wheels, could not afford the TRD package)

    Here's my observations:
    Pros-
-my 2019 was very quiet, this 2023 is even quieter
-thought I would miss the power of the V-8, the twin turbo V-6 feels just as powerful
-gets over 20 mpg if I drive right
-2023 electronics and connectivity are improved with my iphone
-ride and 4x4 capability is still sturdy and strong on a rocky/steep deer lease
-I like the storage under the rear seats

    Cons-
-I miss the big gas tank. Better mileage does not equal out as the miles per tankful are way down.
-If I'm able to install a front bumper guard as easily as I did on the 2019 I'll be happy. The front toe hook bolts on the 2019 made it easy as the bumper guard manufacturer used those bolts. An initial look under the 2023 looks way different--hopefully some manufacturer figures that out soon, I need it here in the Texas Hill Country where many deer perish on your bumper.

I'll keep watching this site for other responses.
    Merry Christmas, y'all.

Roughly 700 miles on mine now and honestly I have zero complaints at all.
Coming from 3 prior 5.7’s I thought I would miss that sexy sounding v8 but since everything else is leaps and bounds ahead of my prior trucks the answer is nope.

Initial thoughts on my 23 so far are positive. Only 2 issues so far. 1 is the rattle in passenger door with heavy bass music, and other is the dealership botched the ceramic coating. Left swirls marks and surface scrates all over the truck. They are fixing that this Thursday though.

Yeah, I always tell people never to let the dealer do anything that requires care and detail (like paint correction and ceramic coating). Always let a professional detailer do that kind of stuff, well worth the extra cost. Hopefully they fix it to standard for you.

Am fortunate to find a really good body shop who does a polish, ceramic coat of paint, chrome and glass, and cure in the paint booth all for $850

Toyota financing interest rate on Tundra is now 10% on a 60 month, my bank charges 5.49%.

My local dealer said the waiting time is about 6 months to 9 months, and people have been paying deposit to get in line...

They’ll get out of line when in 6 months rates are over 6%

To my surprise, Toyota actually beat my big bank and credit union rates at 4.29% about 10 days ago. Not sure if that was promotional or due to my large down payment, but I would definitely pressure test the APR with different scenarios.

That was the regional offer rate that expired 1/3.

ford doesn’t have any special rates either. Curious what’s about to happen

First week (450 miles) with my TRD Pro:

-i laugh with joy everytime I walk outside and see it. Such a fun looking and cool ride, I'm very thankful.

-the cabin isn't as quiet as say a Ram Limited with air suspension, but it's fine long road trips

-as someone who's had three different V8 muscle cars, including a 350 Camaro and a 392 hemi, I thought I'd hate the fake engine noise. But my family loves it, so I'll keep it at least a while.

-the interior is awesome. Love the custome camo

-only went light trail riding here in az, but this is where it really shines: it was so smooth off road that I felt like I was still on the paved road

-power is there. Doesn't rip you back into your seat but it'll climb to 85 for quick passing power (hybrid engine)

-the lane assist is actually nice on long drives. Drove from southern AZ to Phoenix this morning, and the I10 had traffic, but felt fine with the lane assist.

-no wind noise or rattling, which I'm hyper aware of as I want to get my money's worth, and get it fixed ASAP at the dealer if there is anything

    -turn radius sucks

    -camera system is fantastic

-wish I had no rear seat floor hump, and wish I had more storage space in the console, second glove compartment, and rear seat tub

-family loves how big the back seat area is. Very spacious

    -smells great

Overall, I love it. No regrets, and no issues so far. My mind is blown by house fun and nice it is. It's not top luxury, it's not raptor Baja, but it is a great middle for guys like me who want something that's a little bit of everything.

Congrats on the new truck! You strike me as a guy that probably traded in a Ram 1500. What did you end up getting?

Lol what makes you say that? This is actually my first truck - 2023 non-hybrid 1794 w/ off-road.

Almost 3 weeks with my 2023 Limited CM 4x4 (just over 1100 miles), previously had a 2012 F150 FX2 short bed so that's the only full size pickup I can compare the Tundra to:
-Turning radius feels about the same as the F150
-Interior is quiet, with no rattles. The console lid feels very solid
-Feels smaller compared to the F150.
-The Tundra rides very well, although the steering is not as quick as the F150 (maybe because it's a 4x4?)
-I like the adaptive cruise control/lane centering assist. Makes long drives almost effortless.
-Don't like the smallish windshield of the Tundra. Makes me feel the truck is smaller
-Side mirrors on the Ford are much better in visibility
-Seatbelt chimes - had that turned off as it was driving me nuts
-No skid plate for the engine/trans, even for the TRD off-road package. Even my 2wd F150 had plastic panels covering oil pans/transmission.
    -Smallish tires
-Turning off engine doesn't stay in accessory mode

I'm loving it so far, though. Learning to live with all of its quirks.
