I just need something with Homelink v4 or better at this point. I really need to take the dash apart and probe around to figure out how I can tee off ACC power from the bulkhead behind the gauge cluster.

I just use the home link for my cutouts. The garage door is on the Apple home kit that the radio automatically brings up as an option as I get near the house.

my mirror has the microphone for my headunit too. Not wired yet but I plan on it to further streamline my interior

I need to get door panels and seats still too. And all the regular cab specific parts. But damn this interior is miles ahead of what it started as.

oh and the damn upper tray for the center console. I CANNOT FIND ONE

Which upper tray? I vaguely remember you mentioning this. I can keep eyes out over here for something.

An inch of snow and ice pretty much shut us down last night. A lot of people had to park their vehicles and walk home.

I know. It cracks me up every time. 4x4 vehicles made it through my neighborhood just fine last night.

It reminds me of the famous picture from NC a few years ago. We can't function in the snow here.

The one that caught on fire. Must have spontaneously combusted because the driver was vibrating with anxiety in the front seat and the friction was just too much. Uber driver that picked me up in Minneapolis before Christmas was in a Kia on the worn out OE Korean radials. Not even snow tires. We made it everywhere just fine.

We only get snow 2-3 times/year of we're lucky. The mountains get a lot more. It's a lack of experience combined with people going too fast. Also, we're in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains so it's very hilly and steep. People get started up a hill, lose momentum and panic. They end up sliding off the road. One year I watched a demolition derby of cars collide as they came down a hill. It's a lot different than trying to drive in a flat city like Minneapolis.

Lastly, we tend to get a layer of ice under the snow. I just had to get out and push a guy in a 2WD Mazda pickup. Rear wheel drive trucks do horrible here.

This is what it looks like under the snow today.

Of course, I had to go for a quick ride earlier. Very slowly.

I'll add that the people that pulled safely off the road and walked are probably the smart ones. I'd rather they do that than push their luck and crash. That Lexus SUV I posted a picture of had front end damage.

A six pack and some lawn chairs to root people on would be appropriate. Maybe some score cards?

Metal studded tires would be great here.

I remember that, I thought I looked it up before and found the inner tray only came in black. I can't seem to find the post though.

I dunno, Gentex is vague. They just say, "very long life, maintenance-free, non-serviceable lithium ion battery".

For $30, if it works, I'll take it. This is the same mirror that comes OEM in the Prius and a few other cars. Lack of auto-dim, compass, temp means less power to supply. My only hope is , this thing doesn't arrive with a dead battery. If it does ... I'll hafta dissect and look at how to swap the battery.

Gah, reminds me of Snowmageddon 2014 in Atlanta. I didn't have a 4WD at the time, had no issues running around picking friends up. People just don't know how to drive in snow and ice. I got my fair share of that in Switzerland.

I’m hooked on temp v5 homelink mirrors. But have yet to connect the leads I need to :(. Sigh. Running the harness is easy, finding where I’m happy to tap power is harder. I blame shifty.

Yep, someone should definitely buy me that shirt, I want clean, OEM-like, so someone coming in later will think it came that way from the factory.

TRUCK GANG! Great example of trucks doing truck stuff right there.

I mean, @shifty`, if you find any unused plug anywhere with 090 or 090II terminals which has power and ground, I can take it from there. De-pin those two and stuff into a 2 way connector then mate it and extend to the mirror.

I’ll do some sort of connector for my stuff too, but I’ve already cheesed a lot in the Tundra so the only line to hold is with the ‘05. I’m pretty sure that has a bunch of unused connectors since it’s an SR w blanks in every spot.

People need to carry tire chains with them in this weather just for the reasons you mention of having snow covered ice.

On the subject of chains, I need to get some for the Tundra. I only have a set for stock size. Any recommendations? I run 285/75R16.

I haven’t had to buy them in quite a while since I used to travel to white mountains regularly in NH and that was in a rear wheel drive vehicle.

I’m sure they make them in the right size for our truck. I’ve seen them on pickups here before.

I was thinking of some overpriced premium pro Eagle style chains. So I can mall crawl. Though sadly I didn’t even get the Tundra out of the driveway last time it snowed.
