I did a 6-bone yesterday - about 15 lbs. that thing is a beast!

 

Ok, as I was typing this, I was sitting in the hospital waiting for my father to pass. He had a massive stroke on Christmas Eve that essentially shut down all brain function, and he passed around 1 AM Christmas morning.

I knew you guys would be supportive, but with little to do to change the outcome, so why ruin the holidays for everyone else. We didn’t even tell the kids until later in the day before we went to my moms house.

No need for anything from you guys other than your words. This was coming regardless, and ended his suffering from Parkinson’s before he lost all function.

The man lived a life of service, and we will hold the memories dear.

 

Oh, Andy, that's hard. Even if it is ending the suffering, it's not easy to lose your Dad. You know that any one of us are just a PM away if you need anything or want to talk. I'm sorry for your pain, and I hope your family can remember the good times and honor his memory with joy and smiles in time. Many of us know the loss of a parent and would be willing to listen, just say the word.

Sorry for your loss Andy. I still remember the day I watched my dad pass of cancer in the hospital in 76. You never forget.

Andy, I'm sorry! We lost my mom when I was 50 years old. We lost my biological father a few months later. It doesn't matter how old we are or what the cause of death was, when we lose a parent it still hurts as if we were still a little child.

If I couldnt own a new tundra, i was at least going to try to look like thr front of one Wife is ready for it to go! I usually have a beard but had to shave. Told her I'm growing it all back out like normal at beginning of year. Day after I told her that I got to work and they told me at the beginning of year I have to go into the Citgo plant, which requires you be clean shaven. So I'll be able to rock just the regular mustache. She's nonsmoking forward to that one either

There are no spoken words that can comfort losing a parent, especially during holidays BUT the memories will bring that solace we need..
