I JUST got the Tundra done to a place where I feel comfortable doing some daytime off-roading alone.

    I will eventually probably need:
-legitimate spare wheel and tire bc I don’t think the factory spare under the bed is a realistic option.
-an on-board air-compressor may be needed at some point, maybe to air down and back up?
    - more permanent extra gas can will be needed as well and not just toss in the lawn mower tank.

Regardless, the first free day I get I am driving an hour north to explore the legally sponsored off-road trails.

no more driveway whoring pics from me fellas, next pics will be from the sh!t. It’s getting pretty cold down here in Florida though so I might have to break down and go buy me some shoes first.

    winch - Smity x20 10k $430
    Bumper - Smity m1 $700
    Grill - eBay $300
    Total - $1,430

I’d get that air compressor first before anything else… you’d be very surprised what the truck is capable of at ~18 psi vs 35+, also the best way to ensure you don’t get stuck by yourself

also make sure you have a tow strap and shackles for the winch

I sure do. I have had it about a year it’s very cool and pumps up just about anything very quickly and with minimal battery. Would definitely recommend

just purchased this via link, thanks.
It’s perfect for our family bc I already have 6 of the batteries that fit it

I rigged up all the kids powerwheels with the adapter plates to give them some extra juice. Basically it jumps it from 12v to 20v.

regardles, thank you and @joseph_womack for the solid advice.

Gave her a bath, in the rain. Then, I proceeded to bring her back up into the mud.
Oh, and I had a California driver that tried to PIT himself on my front bumper.

Got a couple small loads of gravel (hand shoveled with half the bed full of other stuff for work) to fill in the mud holes where my camp is.

Nice! Truck looks great!! Did you make your own skid plate to mate with the bumper. I’ve got the same bumper and have been thinking about doing something similar someday.

Flushed cooling system and replaced thermostat with OEM Toyota, using Toyota pink premixed coolant. Thermostat was working properly but I did not want to have to go back and replace a thermostat and waste coolant, so it was changed.

Block drain are a bit tricky to get to, fortunately, I have a lift in my garage which makes servicing the truck far easier. Driver side block drain I accessed from underneath, passenger side from the wheel well.

Did not have to remove the front tires. Used distilled water to flush and drain twice. Refilled with about 13 quarts of coolant, including overflow tank. The block drains do an excellent job with draining the block.

Flushed and refilled the power steering system.

Replaced creaking driver side door limiter, used OEM replacement. Door still creeks but not as bad as before. Original rubber stopper on limiter was torn up badly. Not sure if there is any further repairs to make the door opening completely creek free.

Went back the next day and checked the torque on not only the door limiter bolts and mount, but also the door hinge bolts. Turns out the door hinge bolts were loose. Tightened them and now the driver side door opens quietly.

Next day, bought another OEM passenger side door limiter, swapped out in about 10 minutes, checked all door hinge bolts. Not all were tight. Passenger side door now opens and closes quietly, problem solved.

Last week the truck was aligned and it needed some significant adjustments to bring it back to factory specs. Drives much better now.

Had AC system evacuated and refilled and leak detector added. System was low of refrigerant and now it blows very cold.

Last thing to do is to detail the truck and enjoy it.

I hit my door hinges and limiter once a month with wd40, no more creeks.

    Thanks man :D:thumbsup:
It’s a $300 Toyota skid plate I bought from sparks trd parts and have hacked up and hammered into place over the years.
    Part Number: PT21234071

The location is Citrus County Wilderness Management Area. Odd trail numbers run N and S, even are E and W.
Giant grid of various trail types, well as various as Fl can get.

Some are narrow, sugar sand, some are wide and hard compact limestone and clay, other areas are giant mud pits, and there’s the water holes that who knows is how deep and how many logs got thrown in, there’s only a couple of hill climbing type areas and I only found 1 spot that long travel could be better for (series up 4’ bumps with roots and stuff spread throughout).

I was there for 3.5 hours, got tons of new branch scratches to display proudly, covered 10-15% of the area, and never saw another human being while on 4x4 trails.
There is a legit campsite with a paved road, equestrian trails, and a cave (Dames cave).
I only saw ppl at the cave bc that is accessible via a paved road or via the route I took. Pretty spectacular area considering it’s 60 minutes north of my house, I honestly can’t complain. I’d be happy to meet anyone there. TBH it was a bit creepy not seeing anyone for so long.

    can’t wait to go back

Not the best but did manage to get it into the car wash today after it finally warmed up a bit. The Turtle wax with Graphene no longer sheets that I can see, but hey, when you live here in the frozen north, nothing lasts too long against the snow and salt.....

Added a secure spot with tie downs for my jack and jack stands on my bed slide when I put a new plywood deck on. In the summer the yeti will go where the yellow bin is.

Purpose built for my needs and works perfect.

Just changed the wipers to Bosch Icons because the old ones were squeaky. These are not squeaky, so big win for me.

The price of wipers is out of sight. I remember when you'd pull in to the gas station, you went to the Anco cabinet out front, and changed the rubber blades for 2 dollars and were done. Where'd that go........

Had new to me @RCIoffroad 10 gauge steel engine, trans and 26 gal fuel tank skids re-powder coated by a local shop. Installed the engine and transmission skids alone in the garage with basic hand tools in about 2 hours. I neglected to read the part where I needed a studded rear fuel tank strap (77602-0C150) to get that plate installed but no problem more parts on the way. Overall they are solid and very well built. I do need to get a set of CAT guards to add on the trans plate. They will live a long life now with me.

Agree... We're at that point where $hit is overpriced right now because they can. I hate using the Costco blades, but I refuse to pay $50 for a set of blades :mad::mad:
