March 2021 did the Zurich 100k/10y for 1k, I think negotiations started at 3 or 4k. Then modded vehicle so much not sure it’s worth it but all good. Zurich seems legit but no idea. Should have done this for the 2022 4runner but that dealer got no where close to 1k.

Hi, just picked up my 2023 Limited this past Tuesday. I wish I could have recorded the finance guy and what BS he was trying scare me to buying into the platinum plan. “Because it’s a hybrid, here is what Toyota won’t cover” highlights 3/4” of the paragraph on the hybrid warranty. His platinum package offering was $4700. After a couple of “no thank you’d” he was wiling to drop my APR 3.5 points . But my monthly payment was still higher without the platinum warranty. That whole time I was thinking about this thread.. not to mention, he also said that I had to commit now or I would never be able to buy the extended Toyota once I signed docs.

TBS.. or anyone PM me with info on purchasing a Toyota extended factory warranty please?

The finance guy at my dealer told me that Jerry's price was more than their cost on the extended warranties. He was kind of pissed about it.

Same exact situation with dealer in CA, he said other Midwest states cost is much less than what Toyota sells to CA dealers. Very pissed as well... Probably a lie, and most likely GM set a minimum to sell this warranty at, as finance guy really wanted my email quite to show to gm but I didn't give it to him of course..

Then finance guy kept saying that this Toyota warranty from out of state won't be accepted in CA. Probably a lie too

On another note. It is probably not a good idea to let your local dealership know the names of who you have another quote from. That way the people we reference does not get into trouble with Toyota when your local dealer files any complaints.

Also, I am sure the local dealer's finance person will tell you all kinds of stories about how a Toyota warranty cost less someplace else and it can't possably be honored at your local dealership. Step back and think about what happens if you move to another locality? Does a Toyota warranty allow you to move like that? If they tell you NO then decline to purchase from them because a Toyota warranty is good at ANY Toyota dealership in the lower 48 or they are in jeopardy of loosing their Toyota franchise. Short answer is no.

 

So the dealer I just purchased my truck from was flabbergasted when we told them they needed to be at a price point based on this thread. They said there was no way they could be at the price ranges and it was below cost. Took the wind right out of the finance lady's sails. It wasn't just the platinum warranty either.
