Yeah that lasted like two weeks!

On a trip back from Kentucky, a rig in front of me slung something from it's rear tire (couldn't tell what, going 80 MPH on I-75 and I-40 through the mountains, fun drive but you gotta be focused, for those curves will sneak up on ya real quick!!), cracked my grille...

Ordered a new one from Sparks. Waiting on the white vinyl overlays for the TOYOTA letters from tvdvinyl. While prepping the new grille (epoxying collision radar, affixing front camera, trimming top mounting points), figured I'd add clearance lights since I now have fat ass flares. Found these on Amazon, not bad for $13 and they're smoked lenses. I went the zip tie route because you really have to get up close to notice them. They fit nicely into the grille slots (had to trim the center LED housing just a tad because the grille slots aren't actually the same length). Again, for only $13 (seen kits for over $100), I'm happy with 'em, and I have two spares.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q2WK1RN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Also, I really liked my color matched Super White 040 handles from Sparks, but I just felt like there was too much white in the middle of the truck (like I thought there was too much white on the hood so I added the vinyl), so to break it up a little, I replaced them with black handles, and sold the white ones to a forum member.

I'm not even going to bother saying I've done modding for a while...see how it turned out last time?

Is that color & finish on your rims stock/OEM? Or did you get a gloss finish put on them? Looks great.

Looks like the trail edition wheels which come glossy from factory. Notice the grille surround is color matched but it has the limited insert, that's a clear give away for the trail edition, Unless you have someone like me who swapped the chrome surround from my limited and replaced it with a colored matched surround, and swapped my limited insert. Just had a random thought - I have bare aluminum cat shields from Valhalla under the truck. Should I be concerned about galvanic corrosion between it and the frame? I'm guessing since the frame's painted the chances are pretty low, but just thought I'd ask you fine folk.

They look like the OEM rims that come on the Trail Edition. They are a dark gray color.

Not the sexiest of mods, but I installed a VoltSafe magnetic connector for my block heater. A whole lot easier than fighting with the plug in cold weather.

I had my truck fluid filmed before mine were put on. Mine are aluminum I don’t see it causing any corrosion.

It just plugs into the standard three prong plug on the stock block heater. They it just attaches with magnets. Keeps you from accidentally breaking anything if you forget to unplug before you drive off.

That's pretty slick. At what temp do you feel the block heater is needed? I haven't experienced temps too low since I bought mine.

Changed out the shift knob with an Amazon special. I’m actually surprised with the quality of it, for it only being $30. I was fully expecting it to feel like Chinese crap and returning it to Amazon the same day.

I also got an ESR mag lock phone case and “wireless” charger. This is a pretty good setup too. Next step, is to find a way to mount it to the RAGO dash plate.

I hope you have better luck with your Amazon knob than mine! Mine turns every time I touch it and it makes me a little OCD twitchy sometimes when it's not on straight - I need to try a little PTFE tape or somesuch

Messing with it a bit, it seems just as sturdy as the OEM one was. This is the one I got: https://a.co/d/6DpgL62

I’ll usually plug in if the temps are forecasted to be below 0F.

TracRac bed rack, Retrax bedcover, Anytime forward facing camera, Rago dash mounting plate, changed all lights to LED with 1200lumen reverse light, added LED above tag reverse light, rear bumper step, Go Rhino step sides, CCM Cat Security Shield, tool mounts on bed rails, added tie down pad eye on bed rails.
I mounted mine in the same place. I also got this. Makes it look a little better IMHA.

You could try a little medium strength (blue, I think) loctite on the threads. That's what I did so my RW Tomahawk would stay put.

I don't have the Amazon shift knob. But, the knob I have was loose after I had the truck detailed and tightening it left the knob pointed in the wrong direction. I mounted a nut on the shifter and adjusted the nut until the shifter stayed tight and was in the right direction. The nut was small enough to allow the shifter to slide on over it. I hope this helps.

I'm sorry but I don't. I tried several that were loose in my tool box until I found the right one.

Drove West to visit family yesterday. Right through the “winter storm of the century”. It was not that bad. I did see a few cars in the ditch along the side of the highway, but the worst part about it was the extremely gusty headwind I drove in for 10 hours. There’s more salt than snow or ice on the roads.

As a friend of mine put it, “true, it’s -25ºF windchill. But it’s a dry -25.” Lol.
