FREE RCI CAT GUARDS w/ Transmission Skid Plate!

I will say that i love RCI products but I agree their customer service is bad. I had an issue with a bracket not lining up to my 2021 model even though their site said it would fit perfectly. They didnt do anything about and didnt post my review on their site. RCI is like a really hot but crazy girlfriend. Its a nightmare to deal with but you just love the wares so much......

 

I thought about that (not for me as I wouldn't qualify anyways), but when I've looked into it, it has to be a SALE PRICE, not a buy 1 get get 1 or buy this and get that free. There is a lot of stipulations on the credit card price protection.

I would chalk it up to, small business and people who purchased, got cat protection since then. I have yet to see anyone post when they purchased the Transmission & Cat Protection (together, as that is the deal).

Agreed. Their hardware (extra on some, less on other, it's all over the place) and instructions are definitely lacking and sub par at best. But when I have called or email, I got a reply instantly on telephone and shortly after via email, so no major complaints.

They quoted one price on shipping with a certain carrier, then backed out as it was going to cost them too much to send to Canada. They honored the shipping price, but shipped with a 3rd rate carrier I had never heard of, but it arrived safe and sound.

In the end, I purchased New Transmission off local Kijiji marketplace for cheap, a mint Engine off same. Sliders and Cats directly from RCI. Even with the instruction issues and hardware issues, I'll likely add more armor from them, in the coming months/years. The quality of the product is worth it and I'm limited in options up here in Canada.

 

I had no problems with their engine, transmission plate, or sliders.

I have the cat guards now, but haven't installed them yet. Not looking forward to drilling for the cat guards, since my plate came before guards were available. I'm hoping everything I need is there. If all goes well I'll get them installed with some time off soon.

I have had problems where I don't receive their order email, but I do get the followup emails on shipping. And they have always responded to my emails in a timely manner.

 

Our son and I drilled ours in the summer.

A good step drill bit, some wd40 and a corded drill. It went better than I was expecting. Jut makes sure you double and triple check, that you position the template on the correct side of the skid plate, before you drill. Wear glove and eye protection. A second set of hands to spray lube on the drill bit when drilling is helpful.

You shouldn't have any issues.

My order arrived about 3 weeks ago, I have reached out to them to see if they would do something.

As for my experience with their service, they were on the ball with my order and shipped it right away. I received the packages in what seemed to be a week. Pretty good service, I haven't installed the plates yet but expect that they will go in smoothly. I would order from them again based on this. I will wait and see what happens with my request.

At the end of the day, with duties and exchange etc... I am into this for about $1,750 cdn! So I would appreciate any help with future purchases with RCI. Fingers crossed!

I ordered a tranny skid plate with the free cat guards and it still shows as "Processing". They probably had lower throughput for orders during that week due to the holidays...hopefully it gets sent out this week.

 

Ordered 12/16 and received 1/2

 

Ordered mine on 12/22.

Got an email from them today stating "steel skid plates and catalytic guards are on an estimated lead time of 1-3 weeks from the date of purchase. Your order is still in fabrication".

So, prob at least a couple more weeks before I get mine.

 

Anyone have any updates?

Ordered mine on 1/1. Still shows "processing". No further emails or updates since I placed the order. I understand that I'm not out of their expected lead time yet and they might be backed up from sales and holidays.

Nope, no emails, nothing. Order still shows as "processing". However, I ordered the raw aluminum skid plate and the lead time for those is 3 to 5 weeks. So I'm still within that window with having ordered mine on Christmas day.

 

I got an email yesterday that my order was sent out and should be here by Thursday. Ordered on 12/25

 

I got an email saying that they shipped my order yesterday as well. Should be here tomorrow.

 

I received my plates on 28 Jan and they were ordered on 22 Dec, all things considered they are right in line with what they are advertising for ship times -

 

Make sure you check the other threads on how to install. The instructions dont even remotely address how to install it with cat guards, and you need to know what to do with the crossmember in order to fully bolt up the cat shields. Good product. Terrible customer service, wont be buying from them again.

difficulty rating on a scale of 1-10? definitely a 1. This is not a hard install, given that you know the order of installation steps. If you follow the RCI instructions, you'll find yourself unable to get to two of the bolts, and youll be cussing, asking for help from people with tiny hands, and may consider a sawzall. If you do it in the right order, its as simple as tightening two bolts. The problem isnt the difficulty, its the incorrect instructions from RCI.

 

My plates showed up yesterday (Feb 2), ordered on Dec 25th.

 

There’s a few YouTube videos on it. I put mine on last week and it’s fairly easy.

 

Mine came in 4 days ago. I think they got slammed with orders over the holiday.

 

Wow! Took advantage of their latest sale. Ordered Saturday, shipped today (Monday), be here on Thursday.
