598916B7-1A6E-434C-BF53-9215B4B25E03.jpg Yeah Friday may be a good time in Oregon/Washington. Could be one of those once in a decade power outage situations where some places are out for a week or more (or could just be a lot of rain TBD).

Guessing late December 1996? Seattle weather asshats predicted 2ish inches and the entire region got over 12” in a day. Entire area was basically “emergency vehicles only”. I was in Spokane for a wedding and drove the entire way home on New Years eve at 50mph in 4wd. Got lucky and make it over White Pass for the few hours it was open. Epic trip.

Check the build link in my signature.
That was the year I took Amtrak home from college in WI and we got in 27 hours late due to snow on the tracks in five different places through ND and MT. And when I got home there was 7 feet of snow in our front yard.

Speak for yourself. I am hoping for 1/4” of ice by 6pm tomorrow so I don’t have to go to a kids Xmas party tomorrow night.

Sounds about the right timeframe. I remember having a fedex truck making it to the house where I had to review paperwork before the year end. It was 12 inches plus. We lived on the east hill of Kent. Lots of roads shut down for days. We tried to get a taxi to take us to the airport…. No luck. I had a Camry with studded snow tires, we got to SeaTac via a long route but made it. Trip to Michigan to see family there for Christmas. Kids were pissed they missed the snow for Christmas.

The salmon are starting to spawn in the creek that crosses our back yard. It’s so amazing to us that we ended up having property with a little creek. Quite the shock after living the last 40 years in Arizona!
The ice is starting to build on stuff outside. We decided to watch the movie “The Day after Tomorrow”. Seems appropriate, lol!

    Pics or it didn't happen!

I grew up fishing a creek like this for salmon and steelhead in the Midwest, a tributary of Lake Michigan.

Well since I can’t have fun in the tundra since it’s in az. Decided to take the old ladies rig out for some TC off fun and slay some roundabouts

Decided to leave it there instead of driving back and forth before the run in a few weeks. Maybe leave it there after Baja for some fab work if the schedule lines up

Kelly had SSbuilt do a cage for their Tundra with a back half planned for the future. It's awesome....so much want. I saw, first hand, the cage (different truck, same cage) save someone when the driver hit a Cardone and the huge cactus fell on top of the cab. Also in Az, I highly recommend the coil over tower brace that Kyle Greene makes. Aggressive off road driving often leads to bending the coil over buckets inward, toward the engine. I had my buckets pulled back out and then installed the brace. If you notice your alignment is off after wheeling, it may well be because you're bending the buckets. Just my two cents worth.

Yep exactly what I have in mind.
    Front frame plating/engine tower
    Full cage
    Rear frame plating and trussing
Lsk kit front linked rear at some point

I really should have mine caged. Kyle does, IMO, a much more stout job of boxing and bracing the rear than SS does. He's undoubtedly more expensive too. Having seen both, I copied his design when I boxed/braced my rear but added in a tow hitch.

Im going to hit Kyle up and see what the cost and his availability is. Hoping I can leave the truck in AZ after baja then come back and get it when it's done. Better now since the rigs already in az

Buddy helped me out with a BMC. If you’re local and need one done he said $150 or $125 if you bring your own plates. Not too bad since mule is charging $300+

And yes it was fucking cold haha

Freezing rain was pretty fun today. Was looking for an excuse to try out the new tires so I attempted to go to the dump (since the garbage company has cancelled last two weeks). Both dumps I went to were closed when I got there haha (open on their website/hours/etc.). Side roads were skating rinks with an old 1"+ of ice/snow then another amount of freezing rain on top. Found a sideways firetruck attempting to chain up. More abandoned cars than I can count. Was so slick I was even sliding around with new studded Nokians in 4wd, only way to maneuver in those situations I found was to hit the gas a bit otherwise just like a hockey puck (like playing asteroids). Ironically come upon a Gen 2 lift DC Tundra that you could see all wheels turning sitting sideways in the middle of an intersection. I normally pull people out of ditches but in those conditions guess its better to leave them? I dunno!

I walked into the driveway twice to check conditions. Check that… I SLID around the driveway twice. Wife asked me to go get the mail and I told her hell no.C8EA520F-0710-4B2A-AF21-F41C5CECE567.jpg
