I have no issues with the camera and the MX4. The only thing I don't like about the camera in the tailgate is whey you have it open, obviously, all you see is the pavement straight down.

Has anyone tried the N-fab nerf steps: https://realtruck.com/p/n-fab-nerf-step-rs/v/toyota/tundra/2023/

I'm trying to find something that functions as a step up/running board but does not reduce ground clearance much or at all. Seems that this one has "only" the tube in the center of the truck where it's more important to keep clearance good. (farther from tires is more important, correct?). Wonder if the tube on these is strong enough to take a hit from a rock? That sounds like wishful thinking for something <$400, but worth a question.
    thanks.

any thoughts on something else appreciated :)

Well…they will take a hit from a rock all right but if you are referring to off-roading and sliding over a boulder or something (to protect the body/undercarriage) then these are not it.

These like every other step or running board that aren’t some version of steel and aren’t bolted to the frame will rip right off when it encounters the right resistance (a boulder or something catches the front of the tube or leading edge of the steps).

They work well for everyday and light/medium off-road in where you are minding your clearances but if you plan to do hardcore stuff then you need ‘sliders’

Good to know bigjuice. Thanks. I'm not thinking of real rock sliding. Just want something that does not get seriously damaged if I happen to go over a rock that's a bit too high. I thought that these were steel tubes, have to check that again. Thanks for the info.

Added black carbon fiber letters to tailgate and front grill. Thinking about blacking out the inner section of the front grill with black carbon fiber vinyl.

Still showing out of stock on Amazon. I've been trying to find OEM but two different dealers parts departments cannot find a part number.

So not even doable? I don’t mind playing for new plugs and shit. But sounds like install extends past just needing a new harness

Had a chat with Vin; owner of SCS wheels; in about a week or so, they're launching new wheel specific to 3rd gen Tundra.

I've had their wheels on my prior rides, and put them through hell with barely even a scratch. Great quality, great people running the show, and wheels are affordable. worth a watch, y'all

I'm looking for a recommendation for a dog seat for a small dog that fits and secures well on the center console.

All the ones I find on Amazon are either too large as they are intended to sit on a regular seat, or if they are for the console they are unnecessarily narrow to fit a regular car console.

    Suggestions appreciated :) thanks.

Unfortunately, Toyota has not created these accessories. I bought the Platinum model in March’22, still waiting for Dealership to honor their commitment to provide both power running boards and power step that was part of my purchase deal with them. Dealership says that Toyota has not provided the accessory, so they continue to deny me their commitment. Yes, you can find the parts listed one by one, but don’t buy anything from Toyota unless you get it on the vehicle before you pick it up. Really sad that a company as large as Toyota cannot expand their accessories as noted on their website for selecting their vehicles. If it is on their website as an option, Toyota should have it available from their dealerships. I’m pretty sure that Toyota will not be my next choice when I go to buy our next vehicle.

Did you actually end up purchasing the steps and had it bundled at time of purchase?

    And the dealer won’t honor?

This is very misleading. He made a deal at time of purchase for aftermarket steps, not OEM.. sorry no dealership is going to offer that without knowing that they can for sure get you them. AMP has yet to release a power step for the 22/23 tundras. Toyota never once has said they would offer the OEM powersteps as an accessory, they are part of a factory built package that comes on the trucks- only way to get them from toyota is a truck built with them. Yes you try and piece them together through parts fromn the dealership, but so far no one has done this successfully yet.

Unfortunately this is a shame on you situation @Pathfinder21, should have done some homework first.

Go Rhino has aftermarket power running boards. They have dual motors and appear to be solid. I have a set supposed to ship next week. Will go with the OEM manual bed step. Not ideal but a workable option.

Really, Toyota offers accessory power running boards and power bed step on their website and that’s not aftermarket, but OEM. Dealership totally mislead me and said that once the parts are available to get from Toyota, they would install at no parts and labor charge. So not sure why you are saying I did not do my homework. Actually, dealership mislead me and Toyota is pretty crappy at providing their customers with accessories for this Truck. I’m actually tired of waiting on Toyota and probably wont be getting anymore Toyota products in the near future. Sad to say it, but my first 5 vehicles were Toyotas, but then they decided to nickel and dime their customers for every option they can with dealerships adding everything under the shining sun. Sorry, you got me on a roll and the real problem is all the parts are available now from Toyota, and Dealership needs to step up.

Yes, I have it in writing from Dealership, managers signature on the document. They don’t want to buy Toyota OEM parts individually and install like I was told they would do, in writing. I don’t care what the cost is for each part or the labor, that is on them for promising them to me. Now I’m 10 months in to owning this vehicle and still do not have an answer as to when they are going to provide these options to me. I wasn’t like I got a great deal on the Tundra, never have paid MSRP, much less higher price than that for any vehicle in my lifetime. Maybe it’s time to get a lawyer involved to get this resolved.

if it were me I’d print off all the part numbers needed from the thread and take them in there and say make it happen now, it’s been 10 months. Unfortunately a lawyer isn’t going to be able to do much, you’ll end up spending more money trying to fight it than it’s worth.
