I'm looking for a recommendation for a dog seat for a small dog that fits and secures well on the center console.

All the ones I find on Amazon are either too large as they are intended to sit on a regular seat, or if they are for the console they are unnecessarily narrow to fit a regular car console.

    Suggestions appreciated :) thanks.

Unfortunately, Toyota has not created these accessories. I bought the Platinum model in March’22, still waiting for Dealership to honor their commitment to provide both power running boards and power step that was part of my purchase deal with them. Dealership says that Toyota has not provided the accessory, so they continue to deny me their commitment. Yes, you can find the parts listed one by one, but don’t buy anything from Toyota unless you get it on the vehicle before you pick it up. Really sad that a company as large as Toyota cannot expand their accessories as noted on their website for selecting their vehicles. If it is on their website as an option, Toyota should have it available from their dealerships. I’m pretty sure that Toyota will not be my next choice when I go to buy our next vehicle.

Did you actually end up purchasing the steps and had it bundled at time of purchase?

    And the dealer won’t honor?

This is very misleading. He made a deal at time of purchase for aftermarket steps, not OEM.. sorry no dealership is going to offer that without knowing that they can for sure get you them. AMP has yet to release a power step for the 22/23 tundras. Toyota never once has said they would offer the OEM powersteps as an accessory, they are part of a factory built package that comes on the trucks- only way to get them from toyota is a truck built with them. Yes you try and piece them together through parts fromn the dealership, but so far no one has done this successfully yet.

Unfortunately this is a shame on you situation @Pathfinder21, should have done some homework first.

Go Rhino has aftermarket power running boards. They have dual motors and appear to be solid. I have a set supposed to ship next week. Will go with the OEM manual bed step. Not ideal but a workable option.

Really, Toyota offers accessory power running boards and power bed step on their website and that’s not aftermarket, but OEM. Dealership totally mislead me and said that once the parts are available to get from Toyota, they would install at no parts and labor charge. So not sure why you are saying I did not do my homework. Actually, dealership mislead me and Toyota is pretty crappy at providing their customers with accessories for this Truck. I’m actually tired of waiting on Toyota and probably wont be getting anymore Toyota products in the near future. Sad to say it, but my first 5 vehicles were Toyotas, but then they decided to nickel and dime their customers for every option they can with dealerships adding everything under the shining sun. Sorry, you got me on a roll and the real problem is all the parts are available now from Toyota, and Dealership needs to step up.

Yes, I have it in writing from Dealership, managers signature on the document. They don’t want to buy Toyota OEM parts individually and install like I was told they would do, in writing. I don’t care what the cost is for each part or the labor, that is on them for promising them to me. Now I’m 10 months in to owning this vehicle and still do not have an answer as to when they are going to provide these options to me. I wasn’t like I got a great deal on the Tundra, never have paid MSRP, much less higher price than that for any vehicle in my lifetime. Maybe it’s time to get a lawyer involved to get this resolved.

if it were me I’d print off all the part numbers needed from the thread and take them in there and say make it happen now, it’s been 10 months. Unfortunately a lawyer isn’t going to be able to do much, you’ll end up spending more money trying to fight it than it’s worth.

Installed a home made board for dog in rear seat. It's a 2x4ft 1/2 inch plywood, with rubber rug screwed to it. The gap on the vehicle right side (where picture was taken) allows the older dog to step into the truck floor before making the next step up to the board. The second picture shows the board just after completion upside down so you can see the various leg supports and wood blocks used to keep it from moving around. Also note a strip of the rubber rug attached to the bottom to avoid scratching the top of the under seat compartment. The rubber rug extends about and inch past the edge of the plywood on left and front, just in case it moves the rubber will hit the truck interior parts before so that the plywood does not scratch it. Took about 1-1/2 hours including several modifications along the way. Enjoy. messages_0 - 2022-12-28T143317.839.jpg messages_0 - 2022-12-28T143324.554.jpg

This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing. Would you happen to have the leg support measurements handy?

The long legs that go to the floor are 8-1/2 inches, the center leg that hit the top of the hump inside the under seat storage is 4-1/4 inch. Note that I have the Husky floor mats, so with OEM floor mats might need to add 1/4 inch or so. I probably need another post inside the under seat area as that corner of the board is not supported. Try to keep the front of the board a bit higher than the rear so that in a sudden stop they have better traction, or might already be laying up against the back of the front seats.

I've made similar boards for dogs in vehicles probably 4-5 times in the past. A Costco rubber mat, a piece of plywood (I have used 3/4 before but turns out 1/2 is just fine, just watch that your screws don't go through to the other side). Self taping sheet metal screws, a few lag bolts, and go for it cutting and attaching the rubber mat.
Would be interested to see if there are other implementations.
ps: this one takes 15 seconds to install or remove. Just don't hit the back of the front seats with the posts lest they make a scratch.

Nice idea! More pics please. Does the platform rest all the way to the back of the seats? Also what stops the platform from pushing into the back of the front seats?
    Thanks in advance!

The platform is kept from hitting the back of the front seats by wood blocks screwed to the bottom of the platform inside the rear underseat storage area. These blocks hit the inside wall of that compartment and keep it from moving forward and to the left (that could hit the drivers rear door). Nothing keeps it from moving backwards. But as we all know, in a truck bed/inside things always slide forward 'cause we all brake harder than we accelerate (yes, someone will disagree on that one).
Pictures show the gap to the drivers seat and drivers rear door. Also looking under the board in front of rear under seat storage (does that make senses?). And lastly inside the under seat storage, you can see the small wood blocks that keep the board from moving forward and towards the rear passenger door. (board has been raised a bit for the picture)

ps: I'm a make it simple and brute force kind of guy...the screws that hold the rubber rug on are 1/2 inch self taping sheet metal screws, just drive them suckers in and be done.

This is the OEM Toyota 5.5 bed mat I ordered from Sparks. It’s not specific to a PRO but I don’t recall bed’s being different between models.

Got any pictures of those 17s on your tundra? I have some 17x8.5 methods on my Tacoma now. I'm thinking about keeping them for my New tundra...
