My trans temp on my 25 mile drive to work is 110 degrees. I checked the lines going to the radiator and then to cooler to see if somehow the radiator portion was bypassed, but it all looks normal. Any ideas why the radiator isn't warming up the trans fluid?

Should I be worried or leave it alone? I have over 300k miles on the original transmission so it's obviously worked so far.

Your fine, we have the inner and outer cooler on our trucks so the trans temp is very slow to rise in temperature.

That would be nice, but if I did it myself, I would probably opt to just use vinyl unless it can’t be near the exhaust manifold like it is there. Dude seems to have tossed out the thermal insulator on the old line and didn’t reuse it for the new one.

I meant for adding an extra gallon of capacity. Make the low level light reach an extra 18 miles.

Wouldn't that also reduce your fuel pressure, and cause running issues?

Unless you upgraded the fuel pump to a high flow?

I'd imagine the pump runs to meet a pressure, and it might take a hair longer, i'd doubt it would be enough to confuse the computer. Imagine a fuel line with a giant fuel filter, but with less of a pressure differential on each side.

the fuel system would still be running the same size injectors. And air bubbles while running empty would travel down the line slower.

Stake pocket cover and/or per the parts catalog, Truck Bed Molding Cap. (link)

I had to buy one. All it did was expose how badly dried out/greyed my rails are.

No need to buy new rails, this is an easy-to-lookup part in the parts catalog, and only ~$4.50 when I bought mine.

PS - I dunno why it says "right rear" or whatever. This is the exact part I bought and it fit both driver side stake pockets.

Yup, got one of those in the toolbox. Then one day I finally wised up and started using braided line w/AN fittings :D

    Ok, Dundee

I don't have one of these, but would love to have on in the toolbox. I think I've had to bend steel conduit all of twice in my life, but it's good for way more than just conduit!

That looks like my next replacement. OEM is like twice the cost, isn’t it? Better than replacing the 4 bushings on each pack of leafs.

Stupid question: can I remove outer tie rod from LBJ without lifting the truck up? Out of peer laziness I just want to make sure I can get that part out before going and getting a puller.

yea, pull the nut and wiggle the steering wheel, should break loose, might need a tug or 2. Leave the nut on the shaft if you have to smack it with a hammer.

Nah, I think if it was full-on proper redneck, I'd expect it to be made in USA. Hyper Tough is one of WalMart's China-sourced brands.
