What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Ditch lights installed. Just changed the angle today after i took the photo.

 

Looks good. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t overlooking something. I went with red ones on mine. Definitely makes it look better.

 

where did you purchase from ? Cost ?

 

Tech 12 volts, owner is James Randy Taylor, good dude, think it was $138 to my door already setup for plug and play. Pop cover, remove 2 10mm bolts, pull out old factory speaker and disconnect plug, connect new plug, put same 2 bolts, and pop cover back on, easy peasy.

 

thanks! I haven't done anything to my system yet and it sounds terrible lol. I was planning on doing something different but have to wait til its paid off in 4 months then I probably will unless I buy something new. Do you think this speaker will improve my sound at all ? It should right ?

 

Was going to take my wife’s AWD to Timmy’s this morning but took the Tundra instead.

Np, I've heard people with the stock system say it does. I already upgraded mine thru him so this was just an add on to what I already have. I can say it definitely helped mine too. Your best bet is to ask others who just have a stock system to be sure or you can ask James, he's very helpful, not a hard sale type guy, more honest and just wants to help. Good luck with paying it off and upgrading your tunes. I can relate before upgrading mine, the stock speakers were horrible. I'm very happy with what I got thru him, a local shop was impressed too both in price and quality, they actually reached out to him to say they'd love to install the equipment he sends people in the area, every single thing needed was there in his package. The shop says it usually don't work that way when they install other supposed complete packages people bring in. I'm not going to win a audio competition, however without breaking the bank the system is more than I could've wished for and I'm very happy with it for past couple years.

 

I drove it to work and noticed my driver low beam is out. So I will be attempting to change bulbs tonight in the dark in 15 degree weather... yay me

 

After not thinking we were going to move due to the slow housing market, my wife and I are now closing on our new home (God willing) on January 6th. We are moving 200 miles from the Portland, OR, area over to the tricities area of WA. One of my requirements was that my truck had to fit in the garage and finally got to test it last night. So yes I'm posting this here because I test fitted my Tundra in its new home.

 

Clean garage.....is that a new build?

 

Thank you and yes it is. It was much easier for us to work a contingency offer (needed to sell our current home) with a builder than the thought of potentially putting another family in a wishy washy position.

I've been put in that position and lost patience and bought another place. They still haven't bought a new place over a year later.

8' tall garage door? I like your setup with the racks on the cap. Do they line up well with your cab roof rack?

 

Humble opinion here (Audio is a relatively large part of my own life) but the best thing to do for that center channel is to simply remove it. It causes phase issues that are annoying at best. The side dash high frequency drivers are just as annoying, but they at least don't fight the imaging quite as badly as that center channel monstrosity does.

 

Yes your tundra definitely needs to fit in the garage I agree!! No leaving it outside. That’s the way to do it. Congrats.

 

Thank you! I'm not sure how tall the garage door is, I would guess at least 7ft for sure. I'm actually going to sell my cap racks soon as I have a matching rack for my cap but they actually do line up really well together as is.

 

Good to know. I want to upgrade the speakers in mine, I hate that I have to crank the volume all the way just to hear people while I'm on the phone.

 

Lots of people have done this, so maybe I'll give this a shot before replacing the speaker and see if that helps the volume during calls. Did you just pull the speaker out and tape off the exposed ends in the dash?

 

I haven't done this but I believe people just unplug the speaker and leave everything else as is.

 

Ordered tech 12v Sub and Amp... Hope it does what everyone says it does.... 8>)
