What are kids asking for?

Just curious what your kids are asking for Xmas this year?

 

No kids of our own but my three nephews all asked for cash this year (ages 26, 18, 13). The youngest usually asks for lego stuff but has grown out of it I guess.
My husband and I buy our 17 chickens treats for xmas (berries, canteloupe, suet crunchies, etc), never met a meal they didnt like.

 

Lord, what AREN'T kids asking for....LOL

My son wants the following:

- gaming PC
- Oculus
- his 'own' Xbox Series S/X (I own a PS5/Series S/Switch but he wants 'his own' )
- some Hey Dudes (if you have teens you know what these are)

 

Our daughters get to ask Santa for 1 gift each year (within reason and a little guidance from us).

The 7yo wants a digital watch
The 5yo wants a drum

The drum should be interesting. It’s a snare drum.

 

Boxes, im getting the boys cardboard boxes since that’s usually what gets played in/with the most after they’ve opened their other presents

 

My 9 year old girl wants a VR headset.


Whatever happened to Barbies & play makeup?

Well, she's getting Barbies dammit

 

Vr headsets are the thing at the moment. I got my boys 1( I have 3 and they all wanted 1 of their own) lol I went with meta 2 not sure if it’s the best option or not haha

 

I guess it's no different than when we were kids and wanted an Atari or NES

 

What are kids asking for?

The beast engine oil for dad's truck.

 

All mine are grown so I didn't ask. Instead I set up a Squid Game Christmas. They will compete for gifts. Should be fun.

I just grabbed a dozen gifts that I think they will enjoy and let them battle to see who wins. I grabbed a bunch of different stuff. Kitchen knives, Giant Jenga, drone, blu tooth speakers, hydo flask.
They can trade them at the end if they want.

 

My 12 year old got an Oculus VR last year along with a gaming PC as the big ones. This year he wants a Samsung smart watch, a 2nd monitor, a voice capapable Roku, and a bigger SSD for the computer.

 

Damn son you keepin up with the Kardashians over there?

 

Holy crap. I'm an IT guy with a stock slush fund and I wouldn't buy that much for *ME*. LOL

With that said, very seriously thinking about buying a gaming PC (barebones) so we can build one together and all that. And then I can teach *HIM* how to troubleshoot it. LOL

 

Money/gift cards = I don't trust you to buy me what I want anyway

 

my 4 year old is asking me for a toy chain saw, he already got leaf blower and weed wacker for his birthday

 

My 5 year old wants books and Mario legos. I loved legos when I was a kid, so it’s fun getting to build them with him now. But goddamn are they expensive!

 

Better yet take an old one apart and rebuild it. Keep it stock on the outside but make it a sleeper. I did that for a buddy of mine with an old e-machines PC I had laying around. For $600 (his budget) he has a decent little sleeper gaming PC that looks stock. Even has the cool little green light that ran across the front of those old cases so it doesn't look like an old IBM.

 

That's why I buy my mom gift cards. Literally everything I buy her is wrong. The last thing we bought her (heating blanket) she didn't want because 'it might electrocute the cat.'

 

Hell yeah! I still get chopped and drilled by the boys “power tools”

 

Don't have an old one. Well....actually I DO but it's one of those LAN gaming cases, uses a mini-ITX case. Other than that we HAVE no desktop cases.

 

That is 100% awesome!

 

Buy an old one off ebay for $50-75. You'll toss everything in it but they usually have new PSUs you can salvage for a light duty use later.
